$250 ($99 in cart, $150 instant savings and $100 self install rebate by PG&E and CPUC) off deal for the ecobee Thermostat with voice control is valid from July 26, 2020 thru August 14, 2020, so this is a limited time promotion that won't last, it's listed on the homepage: http://homeenergyrewardsshop.com/

Please see the other deal page regarding $5/$10 amazon gift card for PG&E customers.

FYI:
1. The website is slow and laggy even before this SD post so it's only going to get worse. You must keep refreshing the page or try again later to finish the registration and get this deal.

2. This is exclusive for PG&E customers, see screenshots for the freebies and the ecobee thermalstats, my info and address removed for privacy reason.

3. self install rebates are given after your device is activated, see screenshot

4. this program is funded by California PUC (state funded program), since it's government sponsored, they won't scam you on the rebates, don't worry so much. Those of you prefer not to install it yourself, you are saving $51 (lite)/$151 (voice control), cheaper than amazon and you don't even need to do the install. I don't need the thermostat myself, but I'm thinking since this is a smart device, all you probably need to do to get that extra $100 rebate is to connect it to your wifi at home, it's probably similar to setting up a security camera.

Amazon link to product reviews and price:
ecobee SmartThermostat with Voice Control, SmartSensor Included, Alexa Built-In, Amazon price: $250, PG&E customer price = $99 (price in cart) - $100 rebate if you install it yourself = $0 after self install rebate.

ecobee3 lite Smart Thermostat, 2nd gen, Amazon price = $170, PG&E customer price = $119 - $100 rebate if you install it yourself = $19 after self install rebate.

They didn't check when I applied for a different thermostat rebate last time. I would take photos just in cases.

FYI - Customers who already have solar panels are not eligible :-(

Thank you for your interest in PG&E's Home Energy Rewards.

Copying text from the product page looks like you need the thermostat online - not sure how they would know it's online.

*You will be charged $149 at checkout. If you self-install your thermostat your self-installation rebate will be mailed to you 2-3 weeks after your thermostat is activated and online.

They could easily get a report on serial numbers that are activated. Not sure if they do, but certainly possible

If I buy it and do self install, do I still get the rebate, eventhough I already have an ecobee installed 2 years ago and got $50 PGE rebate at that time?
