IDK. $300 for a Wifi 5 Mesh System with no wired backhaul, no Ethernet ports on the AP's, limited admin dashboard features, etc. doesn't seem like a great deal to me.

I really wish Costco sells router combo packs like Amazon does. If you read/watch the reviews, you will notice feedback that the wifi points provide lower speeds. Also, the other important thing to note and compared to the gen 1 Google wifi is that the points do not have ethernet ports and can act only as access points.

No need to return it back at Costco, just keep it then go to Customer Service desk with your receipt on Aug 5 and ask for the price difference. They give you 30 days from purchase.

I don't see any discount anytime, including at checkout... $400

It's not live until 8/5. I've been waiting on a best deal for a while. Should I buy this now and then return it? I don't want to miss out.

how well do these compare to the Netgear Nighthawk 3 piece system? I know that the areal coverage is less, but other than that...

Google could've done so much with their 2nd gen wifi but they barely made any hardware improvements while competitors came out swinging with new upgraded wifi6 kits.

I wanna get into these WiFi mesh setup.
Do I plug the main component straight to my modem, or can I plug it to my Netgear Nighthawk also?

you can plug into either, depends on how you want it to be set up honestly.

You will be better off going with all routers unless you have to have the points.

Just wait for it to go on sale.

Not familiar with them all
With Nest you set up the first one just like a normal router. You will then have Wifi and one Ethernet port that you can connect to a switch if more Ethernet ports are needed.

In general you want to use all Routers and preferably run a cable to back haul any additional routers back to the first Router you set up

When you add a device the speed will be limited to where it connects, that is why you want as much speed at every location you set up.

The Access Points in this bundle do not have ethernet ports for wired back haul. Seems stupid to me. How could Google do this!
Unless I'm really stupid and am not reading the Costco and Google page correctly.

It's probably because of Wifi 6e that's coming end of this year. You need to upgrade the hardware to make use of the new 6GHz spectrum.

Or is this any better? At least it's cheaper.
