I have this hose and absolutely love it. It spins on the ends, so winding and unwinding from reel is incredibly easy. Haven't had any issues with kinking, I think it's only EVER kinked once or twice when I've been pulling it around the yard.

Check your local Costco. They had a similar but slightly better hose on sale for about $20 recently. More expensive online, but still cheaper than this Amazon deal.

According to CCC/Keepa this is the normal price for this hose. In addition, not only are there horrible mold issues on the outside (bad mostly from an aesthetic point of view), there are also issues on the inner lining (check amazon reviews) which makes the hose toxic for drinking even though it's being sold as a drinking water safe hose.

Overall a poor quality/unsafe hose at regular price, posted on slickdeals regularly every month or so for some reason.

Heavy duty and lightweight do not belong in the same sentence describing garden hoses.

Wait for a holiday (july 4, memorial day, veterans day, etc.) In the summer and get a truly heavy duty one. I got three july 4 for $24 at home depot this year. Really great.

Purchased this hose for my dad based on Wirecutter reviews. Wirecutter no longer recommends due to mold issues he also experienced. Hose still works as intended... but entirely covered in mold. If buying this hose, highly recommend storing hose after use.

After reading all the black mold reviews in Amazon, I think I will pass.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

We have one and I loved it, until the aluminum galonically corroded with a brass ball valve I had attached and is permanently fused now. I should have known better, but didn't think about it. Luckily it did not fuse to the brass spigot.

I would not recommend using this with any brass connections.

Stay away from these. I purchased 2 of them a couple of days ago. At first, very pleased, and was thinking of getting some more... today is a different story... i turned on the hose to water some plants, then went inside to grab some lunch.. came outside, and my yard is flooded. Apparently, the end of the hose popped off and water was just gushing everywhere... taking these hoses back to Costco now.

Bought this hose from Amazon the last time it was on sale (last week?) Used it to water my trees and then returned it the next day. Great cocept and was really wanting to like the hose....

The fitting where it connects to the water source was leaking below the threaded portion. Was unable to get it to stop...

After the return at ups, went across the street to home depot and got a continental rubber hose and am happy to have a working hose. Have the craftsman premium rubber mentioned in this thread... Both rubber hoses are great.

Just my real life user experience

Came here for the comments, leaving disappointed. Figured at least one person would comment "Pass, I only like kinky hoes"
