They're both IPS type panels. TFT stands for thin film transistor, it's the process of how the panel is physically manufactured.

See the Dell's user guide: https://downloads.dell.com/manual..._en-us.pdf
There's also 10% cash back from staples if you go to rakuten rebate.Peace

Thanks for posting the coupon, used it for a different, $129 monitor.

Not that this particular monitor is a good deal, it just met my strict requirements (speakers and thin besel, plus delivery ASAP), and the OP's coupon helped me pull the trigger.

I would read reviews on Staples and Amazon, and if it meets my requirements, it is a good deal after the coupon.
One slight downside is the buttons are on the back of the screen, to minimize the bezel. But this is a norm on many monitors.

Looks to be similar specs except business model has 3 years warranty compared to one year on the other

HP is IPS panel, Dell TFT. Otherwise longer warranty indicates a better built monitor.

I got a pair of the HP 24yh monitors almost a year ago on a previous Staples coupon deal. We've been happy with them.

Anyone know why Slickdeals is going straight to the product website when I click on it from the frontpage instead of opening the slickdeals page where I can read comments etc? This is driving me nuts, thanks!
