While this is a fair price, you may want to consider the 20 ounce. Wait until it goes on sale (<$25). The flip-top lid is a bit different. The plastic release is smaller and more flush on the 20oz. It sticks up on the 16oz in direct path of your mouth. Gets in the way. Easy to break over time even when being careful.
And the paint/finish seems to be more durable on the 20oz (black). Like a hard enamel paint.
However, the 16 ounce is shorter. Practically the same diameter. Both fit in a 12 ounce cup holder.
I had a few 16's and returned them for the 20's. One of my better purchases. Great for coffee.
These are almost too good at keeping stuff hot. I still occasionally burn myself and take my first sip in fear my tongue will melt. Good deal at any price if you need your coffee hot.
Exactly. There is a flaw with this model, the button is right in the way of drinking. And fliptop is huge compared to other models. What a clunker, do not recommend!

Yep. I leave mine uncapped for a period of time and then after lockdown, great temp for hours.

its a pretty good mug. it really keeps things hot and cool...insulation is overly good that i have to open it intentionally to get coffee cool down to a drinkable level after several hours....

brought last time for $18.75, this is not too bad.

These are outstanding for anyone like myself who drinks a moderate amount of coffee/tea (hot or iced) and likes to take their time sipping it throughout the day. These maintain temperature much better than any travel mug I've ever owned.

I've never had a problem with the button getting in the way with the 16oz model. The other different that people might want to consider is that the 16oz's interior is Slicksteel (non-coated) while the 20 oz has a non-stick coating on the interior.

Thats not exactly true, they have 16 and 20 oz with both interiors. I love zojirushi but consider this 16oz model a bastard model. The lid on this is clunky and obviously for western market (wide mouth).

link to non-bastard model (narrow moth): https://www.amazon.com/Zojirushi-...00HYOGTTG/

doesnt go on sale often, wonder why

There was a thread not too long ago that discussed this. The 20oz stainless interior is model SM-SHE60BZ

Negative. Two different models available. One with a nonstick, one without. Close to the same price though. It's weird.
SM-SHE60-BZ is without.
My bad Soopafly - looks like you beat me to it while I was writing that

I don't know what people are talking about. I have had numerous 16oz Zojirushi mugs and have gifted just as many. Nobody ever complained about the lid or the button or the finish. Everyone loves these. The finish of my black ones does chip but only when dropped onto asphalt or something like that. The paint doesn't just flake off by itself like some people make it sound. But these things are built like tanks so there is not damage to operation. If you're really worried about the paint chipping, the blue one is only $0.19 more than black right now.

The other factor is that the more air inside the faster it will cool off. So 16oz of hot coffee in the 16oz model will stay hot for longer than 16oz in the 20oz model.

I would buy a 20oz if you need greater capacity than 16oz. But I would not buy a 20oz just because people here are whiny. Either way, I would definitely go with the slicksteel version rather than the coated version.
