My 2DS purchase from the last walmart deal has gotten a huge amount of use after following the guide at 3ds.hacks.
Youll need to close, then open the machine, during Godmode9, but everything else is to the letter as per the guide. Awesome emulation machine...It has the chops to emulate SFX1 and 2 chips for SNES, does GBA and up natively. Excellent swan song for the portable Nintendos.
If you haven't yet, also consider a WiiU...does GCN and Wii natively and upscaled. Long live backwards compatibility >D

Got mine from last post as well. Gotta look up that thing you are saying. Cheers!
Initially, I thought this was a great deal. However, the 2DS XL feels cheaper and is less repairable than any of the other consoles in the 3DS family.. I was tempted by the low price of retailers clearing stock, but got my hands on one and the 2DS XL is much less attractive to me now.. For $100, I'd recommend you try to find a used, adult owned New 3DS XL locally. Not necessarily for the 3D feature, but for a better built console that will last longer.
If yall DON'T mind getting a used one with games included, look up some deals on apps (mercari and similar ones) and FB market place. I've seen several go from $110 bundle (w/1 game worth $35) to $150 (several games included). Just sanitize it, of course, and make sure to research how to spot fake DS games, I've only encountered 1 fake of the games I tried to purchase used, and I've purchased about a few dozen. Happy deal hunting!
Edit: of course someone will thumb down, even when I put "if yall don't mind used." some toxic SDers

I get what you mean. A used New 3DS (still so weird with that name), adult owned, from a non smoking house would be a great buy still. Those I've seen as well on the used market.
I did the same. Used (not new) 3DS with games for $100. 3ds hacks, easy but a lot of little steps, adds your gaming ability infinitely. 32 GB card is a must though.
I got one last sale. Definitely worth it especially with the tips others have mentioned. I have the 3DS XL also and the build quality is better but this one is still good quality.

32GB will fill fast. 128GB is so cheap these days...
I dont mind the lack of 3d, but bear in mind that you are guaranteed to not get IPS screens with this deal (theres a chance with the refurbbed New 3ds deals from Nintendo, however). I was really bummed about it, and honestly its what kept me from getting the New 3ds all these years. Too much conditioning reinforced with things like looking for WD Red hard drives and the Costco HP laptop with the Core i5? lol
This deal is a much lighter machine, and has the thinner bezels which make the screen look bigger. Because theres no speakers or cameras on the top screen, its so thin its almost flimsy.
Good deal. Purchased this the last time it went on sale for the same price , hacked it and installed customer firmware and have had loads of fun since.
I got this deal last time, now... where do I get the games for this that don't cost an arm and a leg.
Depending on which route you are intending to go. You can wait for Gamestop's Buy 2 Get 1 Free sales (or better yet, they have begun doing more expansive sales with Buy 5 Get 3 Free or something like that), Black Friday or holiday sales with stuff on deep discount, or go the skull-and-crossbones route.
