Simultaneous live cam viewing is one key feature missing in Eufy App that is there in Wyze.
Wyze offers 2FA, eufy is yet to deliver on this a year into user complaints. Security concerns abound too with eufy's app and homebase hitting Facebook, google, etc and there's no way to block it that I know of. The latest is how the web GUI streams all your cameras regardless you turn them off from the app.
Last is a biggie. There was some recent server outages that rendered all my cameras useless. Initially they excused it as a server update but after the second one they said they started migration to AWS to meet the increasing demand.
Never happened with Wyze or Arlo and it was perplexing to me how Eufy actually thought they could handle this in-house. Based on their business practice releasing some crazy amount of products each year, lack of security, and shady connections I'd say they're bound for a breach soon.
In short Wyze and even Arlo seems to stand by its products and enforce security. Eufy seems to not care about security and its yet to prove they're not just out for sales and later implement planned obsolescence.
I spoke to Eufy on the phone and on live chat on the internet and when asked if an outage would happen - can my cameras still 100% work and I have total access to my recordings and they said yes, as they have NOTHING to do with the system once it is sold. I then asked about the outages we have all experienced and read examples people have posted on here and the Eufy community pages....and their reply was that they know NOTHING of any problems and that their can not be any problems. I was then told to email my concerns in.
The cameras are marketed around privacy and local storage, which are the primary differentiator from competitors like Ring. While it makes sense that certain features would require cloud servers, it doesn't make sense that the product fails almost entirely when those servers go down.
I have their wireless doorbell with the home base, trying to decide if I want one that stores locally or prefer it to store on the base so someone can't just walk off with the camera and everything is lost.
Has anyone mounted one of these outdoors with a camera shade? I have the outdoor case for Wyze which has protected the camera for over a year but like others have said I'm not happy with the picture quality and the numerous false motions I get daily

Cloud subscription is optional. It has local storage (micro sd card) to store your videos if you don't subscribe. I use a Samsung 64gb high endurance card that gives me over a month of footage before the oldest ones are overwritten automatically. For some, they'll get more...for others, they'll get less... Depending on foot traffic where the camera is pointed.
Someone had asked about geofencing. The outdoor Eufycams didn't have geofencing at first. It was just a software update that enabled it. Pretty confident that Eufy will do the same for these. As a work around, you do have the ability to turn on/off video recording remotely. The camera does remain on your wifi even when it's off...that's how you're able to turn it back on.

I've been looking at these since a couple of my Wyze cams have been having problems and some mentions of this brand in another SD thread, but this very recent Amazon review concerns me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/custome...B08571VZ3Q
I don't need these things phoning home and having a constant internet connection as a qualifier of their functioning locally, and I doubt this has been fixed in the last week since that review was written. I think I'm going to deal with my Wyze quirks for now until Eufy's product matures.
I want to get on this whole cam security and I don't want to have multiple apps in my phone. Current I have ring doorbell, wyze for backyard, Y! for the dinning room, kasa for the lights in rooms, nest for nest protect). I don't like what I have. That's all because of Slickdeal. So I'm setting my goal to pick one brand and stick with it. Wyze lost me at the 12 seconds recording. Gonna donate the Y! Cam. And I dont think kasa cam is any good.
Nest is fine. No need to replace in 10 years ish. Ring is ok and too expensive to replace so I'll wait until the doorbell die and replace . Maybee I'll try this.
