I have this system. It will require a 5.1 or better receiver to run. I know this may not be the most premium and 'best' option, but for the price point I got the brand I wanted with a wonderful listening experience, especially for movies.
I'm also using this as a 'starter' system. It's not idea for listening to records, so I plan to upgrade the 2 speakers (FR and FL) to towers to help with that and move those speakers to create a 7.1 system. Still, it's a solid system even for records and I don't feel like I'm wasting the record or the needle by playing them on it.
Also, the subwoofer kicks like crazy!

While I agree this is a great starter kit, upgrading parts of it to full size speakers, especially klipsch towers, will probably overwhelm the smaller drivers in these in a surround setup. Your center especially.

Been looking for a decent system to pair with the four CDT-5650-Cs that the previous owner of our house mounted in the ceiling. I was planning to buy one of the more expensive systems but the price point on this is definitely more palatable 🤣
My only hesitation is, we rarely watch TV in the room I'd put these in. Our main TV room is upstairs on the loft and I'd likely mostly use these to listen to music, not watch movies, so I don't know if it's even worth the cost.
Would I just be better off buying two quality towers and a decent amp?
Not sure if it'll be much of an upgrade but I'm replacing a Boston Acoustics MCS160 5.1 setup with this set. The BA MCS 160's came with the Denon AVR HTiB I got some 6 years ago.
I need smaller speakers because of set up of our movie watching room. I'm hoping these provide and upgrade while still meeting the size requirement. Anyone have a similar experience?

Nowhere near the same cost when looking at building 5.1 setup. Also not the same size for folks with limited space. Also also that deal is dead 🤷

Not sure depends on what you want. This will require a receiver and wiring. Also, the Vizio is on sale at Sam's Club right now for $399
EDIT. nevermind sorry looks like Sam's is OOS
Thinking about getting a Costco membership for this. I'm looking for a small 5.1 system.
