Is this a thing now? I'd be curious if the bag is made of something easy to wash and anti-microbial coated or something. I mean are you expected to clean this on the spot after the meal before putting it back in the bag. I'm thinking of (pre-COVID) when eating out lunch at various food halls and food courts, but imagine you just ate mac & cheese or curry, do you just shove the dirty utensils back in that bag along with the other utensils, and how when you get home, you're going to have to wash them all every time (or I guess you can only bring what you think will suit to what you're going to eat for that day).

Great questions.. Below is one liner from the item description. I know this does not answer all your questions but the designers thought through your questions while designing may be!

The waterproof lining inside the cutlery sets is made of aluminum foil which is easy to clean as they dry fast.
The silverware set is Dishwasher Safe so you can run it in dishwasher to save your labor.

On a serious note, I would stay away from the plated versions like the black and rose gold. Pre-COVID, I was looking for a set like this for meal-prepping and there were a lot of reviews on similar China sets where the black finish would deteriorate pretty quickly after a few runs in the dishwasher. Can't speak to this specific set - but at $7 for all of what you are getting, I'm thinking this isn't quality.

I have the black ones and put them in the dishwasher more than 10-15 times already. Still look great. My sister has the rainbow ones and those she does hand wash. I'm too lazy for that.

Here's the ones I bought

Portable Stainless Steel Flatware Set, Travel Camping Cutlery Set, Portable Utensil Travel Silverware Dinnerware Set with a Waterproof Case (8-pieces flatware set rainbow) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W8GR...kFbSSZ48MF

Just shove a little ziplock in the pouch for the dirty ones.

I have a lot of forks, knives, spoons, and chopsticks in my silverware drawer. Why do I need this? Couldn't I just take one of each of those?

I've been using the "eat cleaner grab-n-go fruit vegetable wipes" (a dishwashing wipe) from thrive market when I eat out to satisfy my tree hugging tendencies and fend off my covid fears...

I have these. Black coating started coming off after the first wash. Inside of bag is that silver insulation material. Outside of bag is cloth. I wouldn't purchase again.

Did you know that plastic cutlery can be used multiple times if you...like...wash them? Shocking right? They probably last just as long or longer than this crap and you don't have to eat paint coating.

Come on people, quit buying China's crap that you don't need. This junk is a dime a dozen on amazon, don't be duped just because someone self promoted this spam on Slickdeals.

It's intended to be travel friendly. Just like how you could buy those travel sized soaps and shampoo for $1 or make your own by pouring from the "main" big bottles into travel-friendly containers.
