Costco has 1 Router + 3 points at $100 off for $300 starting today 8/5. This seems better if you don't care for the points

This deal or Costco's TP Link wifi 6 deco x60 for 249 or Costco's Google WiFi 4pack for 299?

The Costco one has no Ethernet backhaul support.

Folks, there is Nest WiFi (4 units = 1 router & 3 points) for $300 @ Costco now.

OR

If you don't want to spend more than $200, get DECO M9 Plus, as it is TRIBAND Mesh Router, that's better than any Dual Band Mesh router, even to compare to the latest Wi-Fi 6 Dual-Band Mesh router.

Have a great day to y'all...

Target had the same 2pack for $199. If you use the be redcard it's 189.95. I'm not sure if the target deal is still available.

Is it true that these cannot be be used just as access points and one must be a router? I already have pfsense working and just want to add some wireless access points.

Would this even make sense for someone in a average size, one floor Condo? I'm just curious if it's just for those with *larger* homes, or people with difficulty getting signals through walls.

Just FYI, I have this nest wifi router but it does not work well with my old Google WiFi router. The mesh connection between the nest wifi and old Google WiFi is weak even when I placed them next to each other. I wasted several days with several Google technicians and they could not provide a fix (I reset my wifi network and these wifi points several times upon their direction). IMO Google tends to have some weird issues with their new products (I am a pixel user as well). As a summary, I would against getting this nest wifi. Old Google WiFi are much affordable and they are still solid and great.

If you have 1500 (or less) sq. ft. space, I'll get a known brand STAND ALONE new WiFi 6 router, as it has dedicated signal to ALL your devices.

Having 1-2 or more units that's connected to the main router, it makes the speed suffers.

Even the most expensive Mesh router, when you connect 1-2 points, it affects the overall performance.

Mesh router was made for houses that has more than 1500 sq. ft. area, so every corners has signals.

I will choose the DECO X60 any day, as I just tested both, and the Nest WiFi is only 2200 vs 3000 by Deco X60.

So, DECO X60 is faster, but for me, if I'm buying a MESH router, I will still buy Triband Mesh router, as the 3rd dedicated 5Ghz band is better than Dual Band Mesh router that makes the single 5Ghz congested when you have many devices turn on and streaming at the same time.

I tested most of them, and I am using the latest Netgear Orbi WiFi 6 Triband from Costco, that's $500 now, and it is way faster than ANY Mesh router I tested (minus the $1000 model of Orbi).

I heard the x60 has reliability issues. I ordered both deals from Costco and will be testing them and returning whichever is worse. I'm hoping the x60 works out better.

You cannot backhaul the points so this might be a better option for some

It has on the 1st/2nd month, but after 2 firmware updates, it is more stable now.

But as what I've said, IF you really like more stable & faster connection and having a bigger space in your place, I'll get a Tri-Band Mesh router.
