It's not that crap. Not everyone needs OLED. For a good brand at this size and with Costco warranty, this is very good deal.
Love this TV! Native 120hz, VA Panel, Direct-lit but without Local Dimming, good natural color, great panel uniformity, low input lag, solid HDR performance (only 500-600 nits though) Highly recommended at this price.
This for sure

The Sony just came back in stock for me and I just purchased one. I've always been a Samsung TV guy so I hope I made the right decision for 85 in. Was really divided from the Q60/RU9000 or this X850. I hope I made the right choice.
Anyone compared the two brands on the 85"?
Been researching these giant sets all season. Sony beats those models hands down.

I had to convince the wife and myself, but I pulled the trigger on this. Never had a TV this large.

UGH!!! I finally got the "do what u want" from the wife on this lol. So I have a 125" projector screen and a Epson 5040UB ive had since December as a TV replacement. Does well but we don't like having the living room dark all the time. Any thoughts on the comparison between these two? This has dolby vision also.
Are you using an Ambient light rejecting screen.

If you dont mind sewing, you can buy this screen material for $124

They have the Cinegrey 5D for a little more. But people complain about sparkling on the 5D

If I buy SquareTrade in addition to using the Costco Visa card, does that mean the warranty will be extended to 7 years?
Quote from MrWrigleyField :
Yes. First four years are Costco, next three are square trade.
"if you purchase a television using a Costco Anywhere Visa® Card for the transaction and also purchase a SquareTrade television extended warranty, the total warranty coverage is 7 years (the first 2 years through Costco Concierge, the following 3 covered by SquareTrade, and the final 2 years covered through Citibank)"

Guys who own this or a similar size TV, how much is your viewing distance? I am starting to feel this TV is going to be way too big for my living room even though, the average viewing distance for us is going to be around 11 feet. Please enlighten!

You will be fine. I am watching a 82" from 10 feet away. This is a good deal. I will definitely jump if not already bought 82Q7.

Photos from Best Buy reviews scare me. Hopefully mine isn't going to be this bad.

That is not bad for 850G.

The only Sony model I get is the 900 series.

U want big...get a projector...I have zero uniformity issues...I have zero DSE...I have zero blooming...and I have a 120 inch screen that looks like this since I painted it with AZ silver gray. And viewing angles....almost as good as a plasma. for less than 500 bucks.

Any good similarly priced real 4k projector? It's going to a basement and I don't need ultra short throw.

Please help me decide between these Samsung TU7000, Samsung Q60T or Sony X850G.
