You want C-C cable for fast charging such as 5V-3A (15W) and beyond. The USB-A to C cable only charges the device at 5V-2.1/2.4A (12W) unless your charger and device supports the proprietary charging protocols like Quick Charge.

I just went through the drill of replacing a dead Chromebook charger. The charge needed is 30w, and let me tell you, you CANNOT trust a charger when it says 30w to actually deliver 30w if it has more than 1 USB ports. Most dual port 30w chargers do not charge at 30w.

Read the fine print. I eventually gave up and just bought a single port Aukey 30w charger and it works like a charm!

As always, caveat emptor.

I used to like aukey but now the quality of their products seem lackluster. I have a dual 18w aukey pd charger AND an aukey usbc to lightning cable. My iphone and charger get very hot. It charges real slow too. Ive only used it a few times and its hot every time. Not sure if its the cable or the charger but yea.. ill rethink about buying aukey from now on.

I was having trouble getting this to charge my Dell XPS. The Surface Pro may be difft, but I'd recommend the 60w Aukey, min, if you want to charge via USB C PD.

USB-A to USB-C cables are more common in my experience

So I am feeling a little out of the loop seeing USB-C power output ports on chargers.

Where does one usually use/need USB-C to USB-C cables? Thanks

Nintendo Switch typically. USB C to Lightening for super fast charge. USB C to USB C for power delivery on Android devices for fast charging. I just bought one of these that does 45w for my switch earlier today

Would someone confirm you can get full power out of both ports simultaneously?

The stated wattage (30W in this case) is max for all USB ports...can't expect to exceed that when using multiple USB ports simultaneously.

Can you convert a USB-A to C cable to USB-C to C using an adapter and use it with a PD charger? I already have USB-A to C cables and adapters, but I'm guessing it doesn't work like that.
