CalDigit makes some great Thunderbolt 3 accessories. There stuff is pro-level, and rarely on sale. If you do not have a Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C port, then this is not for you.
However, if you want to expand your laptop's capabilities through a single cable, then CalDigit has been the most consistent and reliable brand.
CalDigit only charges sales tax for California Residents. Those buying from out of state will not need to pay sales tax.
They have a very generous two year warranty on their products, and if you have a problem and want to yell at someone they actually answer their phones!!!

It seems like they are offloading their stock, a major revision or completely new model is probably coming soon.

Yes.

They've been putting the TS3 on heavy discount everywhere. Suspect a new version with better features is about to be released. Guessing 10 gig ethernet will be added.

I think they might be getting ready for Goshen Ridge, which is Thunderbolt 4.

However, the differences are pretty slight. There should be additional downstream TB3 ports, but it is still 40Gb.

Probably DP1.4 too. A nice to have if you have 5k and 8k monitors.

Really appreciate the additional display from a design perspective, and having all these ports is great. Their support is awesome, and they have a lot easy to follow videos too.

I'm not seeing any code or mention of "10% off" site wide?

I have 2 USB C laptops (work & personal). Work is HP which doesn't allow 3rd party usb-c charging. Personal is a Dell Vostro. Neither have Thunderbolt -- the docks you linked will not work without a thunderbolt port right? I see a separate USB C dock that doesn't appear to be on sale.

You will need a USB-C Dock - This one from CalDigit does USB-C and Thunderbolt 3. The bandwidth drops to what is available by the host.
The good thing is that you can use the dock when you need to upgrade your laptop.

Glad to see it only took a few posts for racism to creep in.

CalDigit's stuff is made in Taiwan. In fact they are TAA compliant. I have a friend at JPL that uses their docks. NASA cannot just buy any dock either.

Purchased through the CalDigit store and it arrived in a day from their Placentia office. This is the most complete docking station that I have ever used. I was an early adopter and purchased the Belkin from the Apple store when I got my MacBook Pro. That was insanely expensive, and the flickering issues with dual 4K made me send it back.
I have been pretty happy with the Monoprice dock, but at this price I decided to give CalDigit a try.
The QSG was incredibly easy to follow, and hooking up dual 4k was a breeze. Having all these extra ports makes everything smoother.
The only port that I think is questionable is the SPDIF.
Having 87 watts compared to 60 watts is also really nice.
Feel of this dock is also premium, while the Belkin and Monoprice felt cheap because of the plastic.
The one con is the PSU. It is HUGE. But, I put it behind my monitor, and it really doesn't bother me after the initial impression.
