Odd, as a grown man, myself, I have learned that fashion is subjective and I don't have to adhere to anyone's guidelines around appropriateness of shorts.

Maybe you, as you grow older, will recognize that what works for you is fine for you, and others can have their own way too.
I have a pair of these. For construction workers, I can say that it's absolutely an investment in comfort when you're on site. Not only can you unzip them to shorts after work without having to change clothes, but on site you can unzip them halfway and enjoy the additional airflow. Until you've worn them, you won't understand the difference they make. The only drawback is that they are a bit fragile and if you're working around sharp edges, they are liable to tear easily. As long as you're careful with them, they can make any work day more bearable. Definitely recommended
Convertible pants are meant for practical versatility in changing conditions. Take for example a summer hike into the mountains - you might start with shorts at the bottom where it's hot, and as you ascend and it gets cooler/windier, you may want to add the pant legs for warmth. Similarly, if you're out in an arid/desert environment, you get some temperature extremes between daytime (hot) and night (cold). Alternatively, if you start a fishing trip at daybreak, you might want to wear the full pants to start, then convert to shorts as the day goes on. Want to pack light for a trip but aren't sure of the weather? Pack convertible pants and save weight and space. Convertible pants may not be the height of fashion, but if you've had the privilege of experiencing different conditions and situations, you may realize that there's a lot of utility to these types of clothing.

Thanks so much for this! The Blood and guts convertible line is also on sale in one color for ~$31. They are a bit looser/baggier overall in the legs and thighs where it bunches when I squat in the silver ridge.

A lot of other stuff on sale as well.

As a grown man, I find that wearing shorts is only appropriate very specific circumstances. Those circumstances wouldn't really be helped by showing up in pants first. Maybe for golf? This seems like a solution looking for a problem.

EDIT:
For whatever reason it wouldn't give me the deal using chrome on my phone. When I used my laptop it worked.

They are not 23.99, they are 29.99. The guidance on free shipping is still valid.
and yes, I was logged in.
