Found this 2 unit wifi ac mesh router at local microcenter for 19.99$.

Reviews are mixed for this product. but at 20$ can be used as secondary home wireless solution for your smart home devices such as switches bulbs etc to free up the main router.

Seriously thinking about pulling the trigger... Coming from a single RT-68U (T-Mobile AC-1900), seems like an easy upgrade to clear up some dead spots in my 3 story house.

ok, i bit and bought it earlier today. downloaded the app and it wouldnt connect to the router. i kept getting the error "no internet connection". I had to complete the setup through the browser login, which worked. But apparently you lose all the gimmicks like virus protection, blocking access etc. Didnt really need that anyway, but then I did not get internet through the 2.4ghz wifi, only the 5ghz. I liked that it has 2 separate wifi bands, but what good is it if one doesnt work. Then I read more of the negative reviews and apparenly they shut down the server, so thats why the app wont work. And people need to reboot the system every day or two. Cant afford that since working from home. And back it goes... Would have been a good deal, but the product sucks.

Spoke to the customer support and was told they are fixing the app situation on their end. Also got the latest firmware from them. After updating that and setting up through the web on 192.168.3.1. All good so far. Being a secondary router I am ok with this for 20$.

Would this be worth over getting a range extender? I have a linksys ea8300 and need to extend the network.

Can the base unit connect as wireless access point and extender on top of that?

Your help is greatly appreciated 🙏
