FWIW, here are the retail prices right now, for comparison:
  • $410 (Intel Core i7-10700K)
  • $200 (GIGABYTE Z490 AORUS ELITE)
  • $118 (OLOy 32GB DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800))
= $728 retail
- $660 (this deal)

= $68 savings off retail

Typically, Intel is better for gaming and single-thread intensive applications like the Adobe suite. AMD is better for multi-threaded applications and things that are computationally intensive like video rendering and modelling.
If you are more into gaming, Intel. If you are more creative or professional, AMD.

Speculation: AMD has been trailing behind Intel with gaming, but Intel has been struggling which may allow AMD to even out with the Ryzen 4000 series.

I am still using an i7-970... Need to upgrade but will probably go AMD to save money, but as you can tell I will hold on to things till it's absolete, maybe this is worth it?

Dang, I've saved up for a totally new build and have been told to wait until AMD... but this is so tempting. Is there really going to be better/comparable performance at this price point on the new AMD chips?
