LG Washer and Dryer Set - $1599 @ Costco

Was browsing for a new set and came across this which has been in and out of stock.

The model numbers are unique to Costco, but when comparing features I believe it is a white version of their top of the line WT7900 Series washer and Dryer (GAS) with steam cleaning in both.

At this price its even cheaper than their WT7800 series which has great reviews and ratings on consumer reports.

The Black version seems to be going for $1899-$2100 in most places so this is a much better deal.

If you need the electric version you can save another $100:

Costco includes installation and haul-away and 2nd year warranty, so the price is hard to compare to other retailers once you add that all in.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I just purchased the white set yesterday. I've been washer dryer hunting for a long time and with the size (5.5 cu ft and the steam function on the dryer) the price is hard to beat.

At $1600 For the pair it seems you could get a better performing washer and better value for the same price by getting the WM3900 when it goes on sale for $800, and either the DLEX3900 matching dryer or a different dryer? Wirecutter says most dryers are fundamentally the same and the bells and whistles are rarely worth it.

What are people's thoughts?

I know nothing about this set. But I love that my dryer has the steam setting. I use it all the time for wrinkles.

I've had the 3900 pair for a year, purchased before any reviews even came out, and it's been great. WiFi on the washer was flaky for the first few months but they fixed it with a firmware update a while back. I'd gladly recommend the set to anyone.

Do I need to purchase a hose or does it come with the connections required for install?

I didn't make any extra purchases, it is my understanding if there is work that needs to be done they'll quote it beforehand.

Just purchased a new Washer/Dryer from Costco everything was included (hoses, etc) except for the permit fee for the gas dryer to be installed.

Every bell and whistle is another thing that could break. Stick to simple. Otherwise you'll get stuck with expensive repair bills down the line.

For $100 more, I went with this model, which Wirecutter listed as their best washing machine/dryer combo. (The $1699 price is for the white model without any pedestals or additions) https://www.costco.com/lg-wifi-en...76322.html

I ordered this initially but then decided that the front loading maintenance wasn't worth the perceived improvements in cleaning and efficiency. This washer also has a quick wash setting and steam and uses less water without the potential for a smelly gasket.

I think the steam dryer needs a water line but they include the adapter to install it

Could someone who owns this dryer do me a large favor and comment on whether or not the depth stated (29.5 in) is the depth of the entire back of the dryer, or if there is a recessed space in the back for the hose? I can basically fit a dryer that is up to maybe 30-31" deep. How deep is your dryer in terms of depth from the wall inclusive of the exhaust hose? Thank you so much, want to pull the trigger but need to know if it would fit.
