It didn't ask me the questions about my device. It has a cracked screen (happened today). I wasn't really considering the note, but for this price... I am just concerned it will get kicked back because of the screen.

I tried on trade-in, but my Note 8 only $65, and do I still get $1000 bill in credit ? so confused
Any phone that is worth $60 or more on AT&T's trade-in page will "qualify" as a $1000 credit over 30 months. Your note8 is worth $65, so it qualifies for the $1000 credit promo. Hope this helps.

Giving AT&T a call may be the best thing I would suggest!
In my case, I had everything already set up (the line ready to upgrade with the phone to be traded-in linked to that line) so it was straight forward for me.
The condition states that "Minimum Trade-In value must be $60 after device condition questions have been answered" so I guess AT&T will inspect the phone upon receiving it for trade-in value and it'a value is above $60, then it is qualified.
I think this answers my question. With the cracked screen, mine is worth $35. Poopsicles!

I got the samething as you, except mine is paying $78 (could be PA tax) and after that only $10 monthly (my line is eligible for upgraded). I am just confuse of mine is Note 8 (value only $65 upon ATT website show), and am I still received $1000 bill credit from month to month?

What is the cheapest plan you can get and still qualify for this deal as a new customer?

It says, Activate a new line or upgrade an existing line of service on an eligible AT&T unlimited wireless plan (min. $75/mo. before discounts for new customers). AT&T may temporarily slow data speeds if the network is busy.

So from this it seems like the minimum is 75/mo, but later it says: See att.com/unlimited for current unlimited plans. Retired unlimited plans may also qualify (excluding prepaid, session-based, and Data Unlimited at $45/mo. plans).

And from that it seems like an unlimited plan with 5g qualifies from which they're are much cheaper plans than 75/mo

How do you select what phone you want to trade in an how much you get for it? They can't be giving $1000 for a S8

I already pre ordered! I'm just gonna trade in an old iPhone 7 valued at $60. I'm in for a note 20 ultra at $10 a month for 30 months with $94 tax paid.

I have a note 10+, but I really don't want to get a 5g plan.

You'll need to:
Purchase eligible device on a qualifying installment agreement, including taxes on full retail price (up front) and $30 activation/upgrade fee (waived for online orders).
Activate a new line or upgrade an existing line of service on an eligible AT&T unlimited wireless plan (min. $75/mo. before discounts for new customers). AT&T may temporarily slow data speeds if the network is

Of course the device is cheap when you overpay for the service Mint Mobile sells $50/mo less.

Hmmm that is a really good deal. The downside is I have never had a phone for 30 months. The S8 is in a drawer in my bedroom. I assume i'll still get the bill credits if I put my sim in to another phone in like 10 months. But I won't be able to sell the Note 20 Ultra until it is paid off right?

Not leaving AT&T but not interested in not being able to pay the device off early. How does it work if you want to buy a new device next year?
You can pay your device off early. However for deals like this where a credit is given over a 30 month period you can pay off the device but the credits won't factor in. For example the phone is 1000 dollars but you get a 300 dollar credit. You can pay off the phone but it will cost you the full 1000 and the 300 dollar credit will apply to your account every month for 30 months. And of course if you wanted to buy a new phone a year later make sure you do the next up feature if you want to trade in the phone. If not you'll have to pay off the remaining balance of the phone and if you had a deal that gave you credits you will lose those credits.
