It works fine in our BEW and BRM mk4 and Mk5.

I would only be concerned with the lack of VW cert if you're under warranty.

Maybe not for VW with a DPF. For older Diesels it should be fine.

As a tdi shop, no this is not for bew or brm. It's only for alh. This oil is far from 505.01 spec.

That being said, I use this oil in a ton of vw's and audis in the shop. Even in my track car that has a Honda s2000 engine.

VOA and UOA indicate its additive package is more than sufficient. I change it on both at around 5k out of habit. A little wasteful but oh well there.

Are you concerned with the lifters? Both of them experienced a holed lifter and worn cam lobe as they were the old silver style. I replaced both of them with the corrected black coated ones as well as did the modified cam bearings to improve oil flow. No issues in over 100k miles with either of them.

I replace tons of cams /lifters/bearings on these cars (bew/bhw/worst offenders brm). They are so at risk that it's silly to skimp on oil.
