Why "likely to go down as one of the best gaming laptops for 2020," in a nutshell?
Looks a lot like my y740.
If you watch the Lenovo website over time, they have new deals every week, at least. Also talk with chat and give them a budget, they'll work with you. Can knock off at least $100
Hoping that it can easily handle games like Shadow of Mordor/War, GTA V, the newest Far Cry, the new Marvel Avengers game, Rage 2, the newest Wolfenstein & Doom games, Fallout & etc.
Can anyone recommend if Costco is my
best option for this? Also, if so or elsewhere - any other ways to reduce the price overall even a TINY bit? Perhaps certain CC's or specific C - B sites or codes/coupons or anything for any store, online preferably? If in store, that'd be fine too - I'm just stuck
out of the U.S. currently but can ask family.
ANY & all thoughts and input would
be GREATLY appreciated. Want a really nice 17" gaming laptop setup SO badly...

Really?? Are there any other tips or hints along with this method? I'd like to get a nice new gaming laptop with the month (before Sept) if at all possible.

Watch sales. They change at least every 7 days. It helps if you're a student, let them know. Gets at least 8% off, if not more.
Also, give them a budget. I got a i7-10750h/2060 variant for $1230. It goes for $1599. I gave them a budget of $1150 and they counter offered.
Just catch a sale, and work with customer service (chat or phone). You might need to try multiple customer reps.

I'm not but my younger sister is - but she's in high school, with the "email address" and all that jazz to prove it. Can that work? And are you saying it's best to try this way with Lenovo + C-B site or whatnot, maybe a specific CC that has some sort of coupon in order to get this one below $2000?? Willing to try anything man - but really want a nice gaming laptop (preferably at least 15.6") prior to September.
Wait for 4000 series AMD laptops with decent GPUs.
