Also, it is 2070 SUPER Max-Q. Which is on par with the 2070 full mobile chip but having better thermals.
Seems like a solid deal if you're cool with 60Hz screen!
Edit: for reference, I have an Asus with 8750 and 2070 full and get 60-90FPS on 2016 and newer AAA titles. I assume 2070 SUPER Max-Q will do slightly better so if you lower res from 4K to 1440p, you should get desirable results at 60Hz or tweak settings to play at 4K.
$300 more than what? Please find me these specs without AMOLED for $1200.
This is also the 2020 redesign version of the Omen and as per various reviews by Dev2D, BobofAllTrades and others, this has very good thermals.
BTW, the GPU is RTX 2070 MAX-Q

Reviews on BB say it's the Super. Which they could obviously verify using GeForce Experience. HP website also states the 4k models only come with 120hz where this has 60.
The model # 15-EK0023DX

If someone bought this exact model, logged in to any monitoring app and it says 2070 super and proceeded write a detailed review I'm gonna believe them. You're going off a often wrong support page meanwhile people have this IRL and you're saying their wrong...

In either case, I am torn between this deal, and the HP Omen posted earlier today for $1149.99 with a 300hz screen. AMOLED @ 60HZ, or IPS @ 300HZ? Save $250? Or spend $250 more for a better GPU, 1TB SSD vs 512GB, per-key RGB vs 4-zone RGB? Just looking for insight and recommendations. Also, if this laptop does indeed include the RTX 2070 Super Max-Q and the cheaper deal includes the RTX 2060 115w, how would the two compare?
Other food for thought...If I go to HP to customize my Omen Laptop model 15-ek series, you will see that the only option for an RTX 2070 is the SUPER with Max-Q...but no option that I immediately see for AMOLED, so idk.
It's still active, but the HP offers 512GB more SSD space and an AMOLED panel. For $100 more, I think I'd upgrade to the AMOLED and take the additional 512GB SSD storage as a bonus.
I personally am running the Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED (9750H, 1660 Ti, 4K AMOLED) which originally cost about $1350. All Metal. I wouldn't expect the Omen to have the same build quality, but I also haven't seen reviews. Interesting deal.
