They r "retro" looking; good for decorating. A little warm in color; and Kasa controls them, ergo Alexa likes them. Other than that. 🤔
I think its that fact that they look fancy and don't need a hub
It's a specialty product. If you happen to be looking for Edison style smart LED bulbs, these are great. Otherwise, spend less on something else that fits your needs.
I see what you did there 😂
It can ignite an intellectual conversation.

Ended up going with the version below (same price) installed around the house instead:

2000k is a little warm? More like very warm
I have non-smart version of these bulbs installed in our outside house lights, they work great. Enough light to see, but not enough to "blind" you if you try to see someones face walking towards you from the dark (if that makes sense). I think they also look nicer than our neighbors bright white lights.
More info about why using warmer lighting outdoors is preferable, from DarkSky [darksky.org]
ETA: I have a Kasa plug for a lamp next to our front door and through SmartThings with my KwikSet door locks, I programmed it to turn on the lamp between sunset and sunrise if someone unlocks the front door. (This is great for my young adults coming home at 2am, LOL). Same scenario could be set up with these light bulbs.
If I cared about these kinds of fashionable things in my own home I'd probably get a bunch of these. Definitely would add a nice mood to the basement or the dinner table, or near the entrance, or the porch, or if I had a mini-bar. Add a few vines or straw basket wires or whatever. Nice soothing effect when I come home at night.
Alas I'm a more practical kind of guy.
They should probably make bigger bulbs. The giant edison bulbs look cooler than these normal sized one. They'd probably sell better.
But first time I've seen a smart bulb like this.
