That's the original one... I think $50 is as much or more than it's worth.

They are still sold at $99.99 everywhere though (I checked Best Buy, Amazon, etc.).
My friend actually needed a doorbell, and I was able to buy the last one at my local store. Thanks, OP. FYI, it was not on the shelf. I also saw a couple of people talking to an employee showing probably this product on their phone trying to find it. I noticed a hand writing on the price tag that said "available a the cashier," so I went there. They had it in a locked cage.

Actually, they are not. You are looking at the new model, not this older model... You'd be much better getting a newer one and selling off the echo show or whatever it comes with.

lol I know how to look up products. I looked up the same model using UPC barcode and checked the model number. Next time you post a comment, don't just make a false assumption like that.

So true. My doorbell rings and my Android phone alerts me - so I click on the alert. The app opens and the timer just keeps spinning. It seems that the alert goes off well before I am able to view the live feed. Also, recent changes in the app have pretty much banjaxed my motion alerts. The old motion zones worked sorta OK but the new ones do not. Looks like it tries but fails to identify the doorbell surroundings. Also, my front door is on a small deck that has 4 steps up. The camera does not capture anyone until they have come up onto the deck, so I miss a lot of deliveries from folks who just slide packages onto the deck from the first step. I could go on.... and on... and on... but no, I am not impressed. if the doorbell ever dies, Ring had better work a lot better if they want me as a repeat customer.

Then you did NOT get the one posted in this deal... Because it is old AF and not sold at Best Buy at all. I wouldn't be surprised if you bought the old AF one and scanned it and Amazon or Best Buy and it forwarded you to the newer one. But, what do I know, you're the one who knows how to "look up products".

It takes mine 5-7 seconds to load. I looked into the motion detection some. Apparently any Ring that can be powered by a battery uses PIR detection and the Rings that must be hardwired are using differences in the actual image frames. So, you'd need a Pro, Elite or something to detect a package sliding Big Grin

Exactly. You don't know. Unless you got in on this deal and have the facts, stay out of it. All your points are theoretical. I went to a store, actually scored one, came home and looked up UPC to make sure it really was a good deal (if it wasn't, i was gonna return it). Also, keep in mind that Ring sells the same model with different packaging for different retailers. That doesn't mean that they are all different products. Mine didn't mention Alexa anywhere on the box, but the actual model number is the same as the posted product in this thread. Live and learn.

Okay, so post your receipt... You did NOT get the Ring camera the OP posted or you have NO IDEA what you are talking about. As simple as that. It is not theoretical. It is the FACTS! The OP posted a deal for the old 720p camera, you are saying you got the new 1080p camera. Because Best Buy does NOT have the old 720p camera. I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt. You should know better than this. This is BASIC knowledge... Applause I feel like I am arguing with a fool. You can't have it both ways. And I will stay in it as long as I feel like it, although I feel like I am being drug down to your level at this point... Peace

Why should I waste my time and bother to do things for you only so you can realize how wrong you are? Do your own research. First of all, there is no ring doorbell that's sold for less than $99 regardless of which gen/ver (do a simple search), which already proves you wrong. And, don't even try to bring up special sales/deals because that wasn't the point when I pointed out that it was sold for $99 at retail stores. In all aspects, you are just so wrong. LMAO Anyhow, I really don't have any interest in wasting my time on you, so I won't respond to you. I'll just accept that you think you know it all and can't even accept when you are wrong. How sad. Take care Smilie
