Nice post I was looking in amazon for a pi case and saw this lightning deal. I then checked to see if someone posted it here.

Good deal, remember though, you have to (should) add $35-$40 to this. MY, ME, minimum setup would be a flirc case, usb c, and a quality micro ss

Looks like $35 is the new MSRP for 2GB

FYI, they've released a 8GB model.

How much of a downside is the 2GB RAM versus the 4GB or 8GB? Insignificant?

Depends entirely on what you need it for. I'm currently using a 3B as media server / network storage / backup / kodi box (1080p max) and it works just fine for that.

Based on lots of reviews watched on YouTube, 2gb is sufficient for the more common uses of the pi (ad blocking, plex server, emulation). I picked up a 2gb for my plex & n64 gaming and it's fine. However, if you want to use this as your daily web browser, you'd definitely want to get more ram.

It depends on the amount of simultaneously running element you have. If you are looking for a retro gaming system only, 2 is fine, octoprint for 3d printing, 2 in five (this model might even be overkill for that), but if you want a mini desktop running at the same time or multiple services, then the more gigs the better.

I was planning to take a trip to Microcenter today but this is a no-brainer. Thanks for the awesome timing!
