Saw a review, looks like you do need to subscibe to Echelon for the stats. Bummer.

Sooo tempting for a solid machine. But, I prefer fresh-air outdoor riding year round. Chaos hasn't hit my area yet, otherwise I'd bite for sure.

BTW, it seems like it has been at $499 since early March [cnet.com].
This wouldn't be a very hot Slickdeals in other circumstances but now since we're in the middle of a pandemic and gyms are closed, fitness equipments are all marked up like crazy online. so I feel this selling at 499 is definitely a slickdeal.

I just bought one along with the 4 year walmart protection plan. I've been looking for a high quality spin bike for under 600 and this was it. Thanks OP.
Just a note for anyone stumbling on this, warranty can be bought up to 30 days after the purchase so don't feel rushed to order it. I had a TV ordered from Walmart where I got the warranty as well. I sent the TV back but it took 3 months and a shit ton of calls to cancel the warranty on it and get my money back.

Does anyone know if this comes with SPD pedals or if they are only one sided belt-loops?

1. In 'free ride' mode, are you able to get your metrics (watts, cadence, speed) without a subscription?
2. Does the echelon app upload 'free ride' to strava?

Thinking of pulling the trigger on this.

Question about pairing with Peleton digital app: I read that the Android version sucks compared to iOS. My phone is Android and I don't have a smart TV. Would i be able to use my laptop instead to access all the Peleton digital app features?

In for 1. Thanks OP!

I picked up a like new Bladez Echelon (walmart brand bike) a few months ago and have been using with the Peleton digital app ($14/month), paired with a wahoo cadence sensor. Really enjoyed the Peleton app experience so far as you're able to get your ass kicked in 20-30+ minutes of low impact cardio (plus the additional work out classes available outside of cycling). The current bike I have uses a felt pad resistance so it makes following classes a bit more difficult since you are unable to accurately adjust the resistance.

Using a subscription service is not required to utilize these spin bikes but it definitely helps push me to my limits vs being in a constant state of pedaling. I don't care for the Peleton leaderboard aspect but really there for the instructors and the motivation they provide. But to each their own.

To answer someone's previous question about weight loss, I've definitely noticed my lower body has toned up quite a bit over ~1.5 months of 3x classes/week. At first, I was cycling 5x a week + weight training 3x a week but my legs were not recovering in between rides. My cardio has definitely improved as a result of cycling. Currently am cycling every other day as a workout/active recovery and loving every bit of it. I have no prior spin class experience before purchasing my first spin bike.

A bit off topic but I hope this helps anyone who might be considering any spin bike.

I'm assuming the rides are no where close to pelotons being 1/5 of the price but I'm still thinking about getting it..
I have one. This is by far the best value that you're going to get. Also, the bike is pretty much silent went you're riding it. The Echelon and Peloton bikes are often over $1000 because they have an attached tablet on it. This one doesn't. The quality is fantastic! This is a Walmart specific model that you can't buy anywhere else.

How are others getting the Peloton app on a TV? I have iOS and a Roku.
