Nice find OP, still gave TU. I almost pulled the trigger on it but decided to wait. I'm still using an Alienware AW3418DW that's just a year old. The higher refresh rate, better viewing angle and color spectrum are what appeal to me most about the LG. For me, those features don't justify the normal going rate of $930-$990 though.

The 34GN850-B just came out in May. Its price point is fairly high plus there's the pandemic to factor in. So it seems reasonable that they put a limited number of these up for sale on eBay (Adorama) and Amazon which was at $803 for a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if it's on sale again for a short period before the year ends.

Alienware has been good to me but I'd still go LG based off the spec comparison and similar price

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/to...1785/13261
https://www.displayspecifications...af19116c06

Quick summary from Alienware to LG.
  1. Native to OC refresh rates:
    AW 120/144hz / LG 144/160hz
  2. Response time
    AW 2ms / LG 1ms
  3. Brightness
    AW 350 nits / LG 440 nits
  4. Bit depth + Color depth
    AW 8 Bit, 24 bit / LG 10 bit, 30 bit
I haven't really had any experience with HDR10 to be honest. Although it seems like the most common thing said by reviewers is that monitors generally aren't there yet, since it requires more brightness and potentially other factors I'm unfamiliar with.

Edit: In short you get more bang for your buck with the LG at the moment.

Thanks. I'll also see if the Dell has other bonus items like a KVM switch or PIP. Dell business monitors have some of those niceities that may have made it into the Alienware.
