This brand uses very dated hardware. Bluetooth 1.1 for a few of the devices I have purchased from them. Very slow to connect to the hardware from the app. The app also wants access to your location, but not for geo-fencing.
I use this model in my humidors. They work great, especially for $16 for a pair! I have the app on my iPhone and can download the stored data from each to get a daily, weekly or monthly history of temp and humidity.

Sure, there are better models with better tech, but truly, these work perfect for the purpose.

As a matter of fact, I'm ordering another pair for $16!

Not sure even how to tell what version BT these use, but when I launch the app, it takes only about 5 seconds for the app to update with data from the sensors. Seems quick enough for me!
It's been quite a few years now that Android requires you to give location access for any app that requires Bluetooth or Wi-Fi access. Even if the app developer doesn't request or use location access. This is mandated by Google for your protection even if it doesn't feel like it.

Before you argue, if you're inclined to disagree, use the Google first.

Did the person say anything about Android? FWIW, it does the same for iOS and has nothing to do with Android.

My experience has been the opposite .
I have one in the attic and one in my freezer .
I've thought the connectivity with speed, accuracy, and distance is better than almost every other wireless device in my home .

I own 2 of these(or an identical looking model) Govee Temp/Humidity sensors and found that they ate batteries quickly.
I contacted Govee and they shipped me a replacement, which did exactly the same thing - both of the units I have drain the batteries in 13 days.

I'm still convinced that they had a batch of semi-defective units - but wasn't worth shipping them back to them so they could evaluate the devices I had when they wouldn't give me pre-paid shipping labels. They wanted me to front the shipping back, and they said they'd issue credit via Amazon once they received them - just wasn't worth it for a sensor I barely spent $10 for originally.
Now their mini sensors without a display? Love them, they run on a CR123 and the one I have is still going strong after half a year.

Unless you want another backdoor for the Chinese Communist Party, DO NOT install that freaking app.

I use this one all the time, I really love it and I like how small it is yet easy to read but again, do not install the app. If you are in IT Sec, you come to your own conclusion but for me running it on VM, its what you expect privacy wise.. you've been warned.
Even on iPhone?

Edit: Even on iPhone O.O

BTW I'm joking, obviously you should download apps from random Chinese companies, they are totally safe. /s
I'm glad you never bought a TOYOTA. Buy American.

The thread score doesn't make sense per comments.

This doesn't have wifi, so you'll need a phone nearby for any fun IFTTT scripts, I'd avoid.
