Want people to be aware Musicians Friend IS Guitar Center. And they don't have a warehouse, they ship directly from whatever store that currently stocks what you order. I don't doubt that prices will be a bit higher due to shipping costs have been raised and take longer to get. Try to price match or look at other stores for equal deals, might have coupons or other preferential bonuses. If your looking for a cheap guitar, Please be aware these are really cheap choices. If you saved up $200+ more you'd get a better guitar. I recently bought a Epiphone Les Paul Special(TV Yellow), It's back ordered for months now, $400. Fantastic quality, great tuners, nice sounding pickups. Have Zero issues with it. Do your research and look at reviews.
Musicians Friend and Guitar Center are the same company and share a distribution network, but MF absolutely has multiple warehouses around the country, the largest located in Kansas City, MO. Their are instances where GC sell close outs from floor stock, but this isn't the norm.

Completely irrelevant that MF and GC are the same company. These guitars also have free shipping. Also, everyone on earth realizes if you spend more money on something it is nicer than something that is budget. Lastly, the reviews/forums on these guitars (especially the bullet) are very good considering the price.
I'm glad you wanted to come in here and crap on a deal, but at least make some good points next time

I used to think bullets were complete junk, but after owning a bullet mustang and playing a few other bullet models they have come a long way over the last 20 years. I'm very impressed with what Squier has been putting out of China and Indonesia.
whats the difference between the bullet and the affinity? Sorry I used to dabble with guitar in high school 20+ years ago, and i'd like a budget guitar to pick back up a little bit, im curious if the affinity is worth the price bump?
Thanks

The bullets, besides being cheaper in price, are now only offered in hard tail form (unless you get a mini (kids) size. That's for the strats of course. They both come with laurel fingerboards and maple necks, but you can get some with a maple fingerboard on the affinity series. The affinity series also offers more color options. A significant difference between the two is that the bullet series are basswood bodies while the affinity are alder. Basswood is lighter than alder, but alder, they say (who's they?) gives you a brighter tone whereas basswood is more thuddy/bassy. The bullets have a bit wider of a neck. And that's about it. I think the pickups are identical, but I can't be sure. I think you pay more for the affinity because of the alder body. Hope that helps. Cheers.

IMHO, the difference is negligible. They are both cheaply made top-loaders, with the cheapest electronics Squier has to offer. The setup out of the box is going to be pretty lack luster on anything in this price range. I think poorly setup, cheap guitars is the reason so many people give up on the instrument. If you want to learn how to work on/modify guitars, this is a decent option because you're not out a ton of money if you screw it up. however, there are better option out there for that purpose as well. I would recommend a Squier Vintage Modified or Classic Vibes to a new comer. At least you have a well made instrument and a strong platform to upgrade on.
Let me be clear, this is a decent deal for what it is, but it's a half-decent instrument on its best day.
FYI I would never buy from MF again. I bought something listed as in stock. Two days later I pulled up my account to see if it had shipped and it showed that my order had been cancelled. No apology, no e-mail, there was absolutely ZERO communication on their part. If you are interested in something @ MF I would contact Sweetwater and see what they can do for you.
I have owned many USA tele's over the years, also a made in mexico Fender Player tele in Butterscotch Blonde that I paid $550 for because of a scratch in the finish. I just sold that guitar a few days ago. I also currently own a Squier Affinity tele in Butterscotch Blonde as well which I bought for $90 used/mint from GC around two years ago and I cannot believe how great it is. I've compared it countless times side by side with my Player tele and outside of a few very minor details (chrome appointments not quite as thick) they are virtually identical. It plays great, it sounds great, the intonation is great, stays in tune great, the neck feels great (slightly thinner than USA tele's). At first I planned on changing out the pickups, get better tuners etc, but as the weeks and months went by I realized there is no need, it's a great guitar just the way it is. As for the sound, the USA tele was ever so slightly fuller, meatier.. but in a way I prefer the sound of the Squier, at least at times. That being said if you nudge the bass knob or back off of the mid-range a tad they sound just about indistinguishable from each other.
FYI the Squier Limited-Edition Bullet Telecaster Electric Guitar Red Sparkle is $129
I bought the red sparkle because years ago I had a Telecaster that I adored. I knew the bullet is ok but nothing special as far as build quality. The main complaint I have is that it frets out around the 19th fret when bending the smallest string. I realize setup would be off a bit but this is still kind of annoying.
The neck feels pretty good to me even though it is a little rough in spots, and the overall finish isn't half bad. Still, for what it costs I feel these are well worth it.
If you're slightly handy or can absorb a bit of a setup fee for adjustments maybe even a few upgrades you can make these entry guitars feel and play great, I've had them all Bullets, MIM and American strats and of all of them the bullet held it's own with some low profile bridge screws (less hand scraping $5 on ebay), locking tuners $50ish on ebay easy to change, and a decent set of strings and graphite in the nut slots, thing feels and plays great! Did the same for my MIM and it is actually my favorite of my Fender group at well under $450 total into that one.

Do you have a link/pointer to cheap guitars? Even goodwill guitars are ridiculously expensive for what you get, at least on the low end. I'd love to find a cheap source just so I could hear different pickups etc.

Let me preface with the fact that I don't usually mess with anything in the sub $200 price range, so my knowledge may be a tad dated. One thing I've learned in my 30 years of playing, setting up, modifying, and building guitars is that cheap guitars are made of cheap parts that fail easily. The only thing that ends up being salvageable are the plastics. You also spend way more time (or money if you don't have the knowledge or tools) setting them up. There are some manufacturers that at least start with good wood.
https://reverb.com[reverb.com] has plenty of Used Squier Classic Vibe and vintage modified Telecasters in great condition for $350 or less. They might be a bit more, but the parts are mostly interchangeable with Fenders, leaving lots of room for upgrades.
