Especially with all the issues. Not just a Karen, owned one for 3 days and the screen quality was horrendous. On top of now seeing how many people have burn in after just a couple months. Sad cuz I had every oneplus before that one

For those wanting a really great spec'ed flagship, I think this is a solid deal. The 865 cpu will trump the Pixel 5 and the 120hz screen, 12gb ram and 256gb storage is a good package for the price, especially compared to the Samsung phones.
It is my understanding though that this phone is not compatible with Verizon's flavor of 5g. That for me is the deal breaker as that limits how future-proof this is. Am I correct about this because although it is not a strong value, it is a discount on a strong phone, quality assurance issues aside.

With all the BOGO offers from Samsung, why would anyone go for a OP?

Less competition. There are only 3 main designers of high-end 5G chips. Qualcomm, Samsung, and Huawei and one of them is banned in the US. Huawei is banned and Samsung uses Qualcomm chips in the US.

If people (especially in the U.S.) didn't consistently demand the best everything, $1,000+ smartphones wouldn't really be commonplace. There's a good reason why flagship smartphones sell for a LOT less in India. It's not just Apple vs. Samsung/Android over there. Extremely fierce competition exists and they're all forced to actually "compete" for your money.

If people started buying mid-range smartphones en masse for a while, I guarantee we'd start seeing prices drop.

It's compatible with VZWs 5G but not their mmWave 5G. I was on the fence for a little while about this too until I realized that I couldn't find one study that found the mmWave 5G to be a compelling reason to buy a particular handset. From what I've read it's only good for direct line of site to a tower and does not penetrate walls to work indoors. Leave it to VZW to cook up their own one-off solution that completely bucks the industry standard.

Because spec for spec this is objectively a better phone than the same class Samsung (S20 Ultra 5G).

Hi, can you explain how the phone is compatible with VZW 5G because I have a limited understanding of 5g compatibility but just went with this article's statements?

Please help me understand.
Thanks in advance.
