Not bad but I ended up just using jellyfin which does everything Plex does, for free.
Personally I like Emby better. Jellyfin just didn't seem quite as polished when I tried it out.
Plex used to be really good, but it seems they've decided that cramming in more ad supported streaming features is more important than making sure their existing features actually work. I bought a Plex pass so I could use their live TV features and sadly that was just money down the drain since their timeshifting and DVR features are a buggy mess. At least Emby actually works as advertised though.
I've had the free version of Plex for years now and have never felt the need to upgrade to the paid version. I mostly use Kodi to watch my videos anyway. Plenty of stuff available on the free version. Not sure these features are worth it for me and probably most people.

How did you get it to work? When I go to the plex page to upgrade it says I already have a plex pass (monthly) When I went to redeem code it said it was for new subscribers.

Never mind. Logged in to my account, then upgrade the account. Apply code and choose lifetime. Cheers!

First time I tried, it was a no go. Then I tried in Chrome using an incognito window and it worked perfectly. Thanks OP! Been waiting for this for a LOOOOONG TIME!
