Just a friendly reminder...

This is a deal thread for The Economist, not a thread for political debate. If you want to talk politics, feel free to visit The Podium. Otherwise, these discussions do not belong here, even if they are loosely related to the product. Further political posts in this thread will be removed and/or warned. Thanks!
There are a few people lying about the quality/relevance of The Economist in this thread, so let's set the record straight... this magazine is rated highly for both accuracy in reporting AND lack of political bias.

And yeah, the magazine has a wide international focus, so not every article is going to appeal to every reader. If all you're looking for is what's happening in the United States, look elsewhere.

Ah, screw it, might as well. It was really nice getting national and international news weekly and in print, so I couldn't fall down a rabbit hole of links and endless scrolling.

Their articles are also well written and researched. I stopped because the subscription was expensive, but at this price it is worth it.

I have an economics degree and don't think this magazine is worth the money. But if you were going to buy it anyway, then go for it at this price point.

journalists rarely know what they are talking about. I personally see too much propaganda in the Economist since ~ 2014.

I find The Economist a refreshing oasis of logic in journalism. I don't think the title of Economist is relevant to the quality of writing or articles contained within. Every article is based in facts and data and not necessarily adherent to a financial perspective.

I agree. The Economist is one of the best written and researched news sources.

Best price currently. It's nice to see the political Troll's post removed. With magazine subscriptions, consider using a disposable credit card number so you don't get charged at full price automatically at renewal time. If your current CC does not have this feature, privacy.com will do it for free.

Hmmm... The media rating sight lists the NYT/ WaPo as left center and the WSJ/Chicago Tribune as right center, so re-calibrate as one sees fit.

Very good and relevant point about the international coverage. The Economist is still one of the few go-to sources for non-US/EU reporting ; so such that the newspaper is frequently banned by the thin-skinned countries they profile.
I used to tear off the cover off of mine when I traveled to certain countries so it wouldn't get "quarantined". ;-)

A nice price if you have the patience to pick and choose your articles. Thx OP.
