Where are the VIP points used?

The rewards page only lists Legoland park tickets:

Which amount to $0 now due to park closures...

Not sure why you are seeing just that - perhaps only displays the full set when logged in w/ a VIP account? At any rate, the primary rewards are cash discounts - 650 points = $5. However, they also can be redeemed for sets, some of which are retired and/or unique or semi-unique and as such desirable.

I'm guessing only purchases made on lego.com count toward the point total?

No, the in-store purchases count as well. I've never bought off the website. They tell you in the store how many points you earned with that purchase, when you give them your email.

So effectively $1.15 of free lego credit that can only be used on their website which almost never has any meaningful sale ever. Not seeing why this is a frontpage deal unless it's a really slow day.

Agreed, not much of a slick deal when you can go to a reseller or even B&M store for better sale prices, bypassing the VIP deal when you do the math at the end.

I have 3,020 VIP points, but I don't see where to cash them in. Lego site isn't very friendly or intuitive IMO.

For those of you wondering if the VIP Points really have any value, let me say that they do! So, right now, I have 9,315 VIP points. If I had 13,000 points I could redeem them for $100 off a LEGO.com purchase. However, for only 4,000 points I can redeem for a ticket to LEGOLand Florida. Which is an $85 value! So, I am going to redeem 8,000 points and my girlfriend and I are going to LEGOLand Florida for free (saving $170)... For us, that's a hell of a deal, especially since we are going to keep buying LEGO sets on lego.com and in store anyway. Might as well get some free stuff! Stick Out Tongue
