A "gaming" PC in 2020 without an SSD? Crazy.

I'm curious... how does an SSD give you better frame rates in a game?

I don't know the exact specs of the MOBO (expansion capabilities) but you should be be able to easily add 8GB of ram and a decent 500GB SSD to this system for under $80. My only concern is the PSU, but the 10400F doesn't pull a lot of power so it's "probably" fine.

Price dropped to $661.49 now after 10% email coupon.
Cheaper aftermarket upgrade options:
1) $22.99 8GB RAM [amazon.com]
2) $23.99 240GB SSD [amazon.com]

Man, with a bigger PSU i'd hop on this, rip the GTX card out, sell or throw in some older machine, toss a 3070/3080 + already have extra SSDs/RAM

... Pretty sure their power supply would hold up tbh.. I've been running a 2070 super in a dell xps 8500 for a long time without issue... but it's just not worth the risk with all the proprietary bs.

Load times. rendering times. Overall PC experience is improved.

PC boots up, then open steam, load game, load save. 15 min total time with HDD. 2 min with SSD

ever play a game when your in an elevator to load the next area? yeah that's a long ride with an HDD and newer games.

I don't think anyone disputes that an SSD improves the PC experience. But the question was "how does an SSD give you better frame rates in a game?"

I never claimed that it did.
