Different animals. Voltaren is just a brand name for Diclofenac which until a few weeks ago was prescription only. Aspercreme is fine for minor pain (even though not if any studies show pain relief, the "burn" just hides it) but I prefer diclofenac for real pain.

Don't know how it compares, but I saw Walmart has some Equate patches that are like a generic of the Icy Hot patches... think it's a 6 pack. Seeing $6.96 online for it

Where do you buy your Voltaren though? I always brought some back from Europe...

got it online @ costco...3 tubes (2 large 1 small) think it cost $35 for all 3.

My dads doctor just recommended some for his knee pain and we found it at Walgreens. They also sold it at Walmart....but they were out of stock of the biggest size. He says it works well for him. Don't bother with CVS, as theirs is a good 5-6$ more for the biggest size.
