Nothing is worse than your CLOTH face mask that is merely a placebo. It doesn't protect yourself nor others.
And this plus P100 would at least protect the wearer. And if the wearer always wear this the wearer is much less likely to get covid. And if the wearer doesn't have covid, it also protects others.
All the user needs to do is tape a small piece of coffee filter on the exterior of the exhaust valve, or affix a basic mask over by stringing the earloops over the p100 filters. Ain't rocket science.
Exactly. I have small and it fits perfectly. Large would be humongous. So, medium would be average.
All somebody needs to do is duct tape a piece of coffee filter over the exhaust or simply put a mask over it.
I work for U.S. Army and DoD absolutely forbids masks with valves.
But, can you wear them covered with another mask? Seems logical you could since it's basically the same as wearing a mask without a valve.
The mask assembly is only part of the system, you'll also want to get cartridges/filters that come in a single unit or a stack of 2-3 pieces. The best ones are a single unit that's encased in plastic. This makes it easier to keep clean and less likely to be handling the nasty part of the filter. The 7093 is actually rated as P100 and is the easiest to breathe through. The other single piece 6000 series ones are good too (no matter how they are labeled for various gasses). These might be restricted to health care people and they are harder to find.
The other filter style that's easier to find comes in 2-3 pieces: a 6000 series base piece (the gas type doesn't matter much), with a separate plastic attachment (Filter Retainer 501) on each cartridge to hold a N95 particulate filter ("3M Particulate Filter 5N11"). If you can find one, there's also a blank cartridge that will hold the N95 filter ("Filter Adapter 603").
3M does make the pink puff ball style filters that are easy to breathe through and are rated N95 but they require more caution when handling because there's no shroud.
Here's an overview of the different systems:

Regarding the exhalation port...
In a perfect world, we'd all have real N95 masks in such abundance that we could put on a fresh one whenever it's required and then just toss it. Frankly, it feels a bit 3rd world that 6+ months in and we're still struggling with this. But, until that day comes, the elastomeric respirator is the next best thing. For most of us, this is about the only way to get a hold of a real N95 (or even N100). Plus, it's economical, comfortable, and easy to get a good seal. The only real downside is that it doesn't filter the exhale. Here's a few thoughts and solutions:

Exactly,it's because they want to have the mask for the 1percenters
Kn95 are the Chinese version of n95,are you forgetting that
They've admitted they said that to not provoke panic buying of PPE that was already in short supply at hospitals... which definitely isn't great but they've been consistent for decades that nose and mouth coverings are effective in limiting the spread of airborne diseases. Nurses and doctors haven't been putting them on for the last century just for fun.
We are rebuilding our deck. Between cutting lots of pressure treated wood (harmful dust) and staining cut ends with wood preservative (harmful fumes), I am incredibly grateful to have snagged a set of these with combo gas/particulate filters. Cotton masks and disposable surgical masks just weren't cutting it.
For all of the discussion of whether these help for covid or not, please don't lose site of the intended use for these and know that there are those of us out there that will benefit from them.
