The most noticeable difference is it uses a magnetic mount to hold the phone, rather than using a clamp.

Have this model have to say it is annoying to have to clamp it in I can see why the newer one has magnetic release. The clamp tends to hit my volume / bixby button on my s10. Also it overheats after about 30 min use.

That said I still enjoy mine
