only catan has online multiplayer (no local multiplayer for that matter). pandemic and carcassonne have local multiplayer.
The Switch version will help understand the rules of the game better. So you're less likely to misinterpret the rules since the digital version will prevent you from making illegal moves. I prefer the board game though., i think having the actual game pieces in hand adds to the excitement and fun. I bought the board game then later learned how to better play on the digital. The Switch version is cheaper and also comes with 2 DLC's which would cost significantly more for the board games even with a good sale. I'd say for an easier learning curve, go with Switch (at this price). However, I'd think you'd get a better overall experience with the actual board. FYI... there are some decent tutorials on the Tube from the makers and also from other players to better understand the rules and gameplay.
Some of us are. The rest are playing Plague Inc. and purposely running around maskless to spread it and win(?) their game.

Have all 3 of these as board games and they're all super fun! Easy to learn and would recommend all 3.. wondering how the digital versions are tho? Are you playing online against others or is it solo only?
I've been waiting for Pandemic to go on sale. I have the board game and family and friends love it. I've also play it solo occasionally so this will be perfect when I'm on the road and have an urge to play without having to lug the board game around.

i'm curious what it will be like to role play a pandemic.
So which of these (if any) are good for pure solo play (not local multiplayer, 'cause no-one else in my house!)? I would love to learn the games, go through tutorials, and play against AI. Do any of these work well for that?
P.S. Kind-of want to get Pandemic just because, you know, Pandemic, but I've spent the last 6 months trying to NOT get Pandemic, if you know what I mean....
I can confirm that Pandemic can be played solo. I've played a bit of the Xbox One version (thanks to Game Pass) and it does have a tutorial and practice scenarios for players to get accustomed to the rules.

Edited: I understand the rationale now - everyone can see everyone's hands on the screen, removing all competitive advantage.
