Apple mostly will release Tile like product this week...No wonder this sale now..
I don't follow up to date news for stuff like this - maybe you are right... but I can say from following this product for 6 or so years, they do have sales a few times a year. Less often from the manufacturer themselves. One of the last sales I noticed was via home depot, and I think Amazon was before that. About $12.50 per tile or so was the deal, if I remember right.
I personally like Tile still, but less than I used to. As far as I can tell, it's still the best option... I don't pay for any of the premium services though. And I also think that there are some Chinese basic knockoffs that serve a similar purpose for finding keys around the house for much cheaper. I have these Wohome branded ones that give you about 6 of the fobs you can put on keys etc, with one wireless "remote" with different colors for each fob... it's like a radio, so it only works within a certain range. Cost me like $20 or so, and has a 1 year warranty.
Tile is still best, as far as I know, for being out in public etc. But I guess you still have to leave your bluetooth on... so maybe keep a battery bank/portable charger in the car with you.
Edit: I keep my tile and my car keys on a carabiner personally. I don't accidentally press the Tile often, but it can happen. You can also sometimes use the Tile to find your phone, but some people say it doesn't always work. I haven't personally had an issue, since I leave bluetooth on, but maybe it doesn't work across the board for all phones 100% of the time
Edit 2: I don't think Tile *ever* made the claim you can share a Tile with someone else... if you can, it's a premium service you pay for. (And again, it IS a limitation of bluetooth). I noticed someone else complaining about that... just have one tile for each person, and keep it on your keys or something. It honestly wouldn't make sense to really share it, since if you are apart from someone else, I'm not sure Tile could really track where your family member was when they last had X item, if you and the Tile were also not present with them the whole time...
If you can't afford one tile per person, only need to find it while at your house, and you don't need it to find a phone or something... you can get something like this, and affix each fob to household items like remotes. They do fail sometimes within a year, but they have a 1 year warranty. https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-W...B07H5FBYQB
$5 each ($20 for 4 pack) is a phenomenal deal w/ shipping. These are the 2018s which is why they are being blown out. The 2019s are a bit louder, but these do the trick just fine IMHO. Never had an issue with any of mine.
Sure Apple's Air Tag will be out soon but they won't be $5 and they'll probaby be disposable, i.e., no way for consumer to replace the battery.

Disregard. Won't let me delete

Concerning finding a lost phone... For Android, you can use: https://www.google.com/android/find ... and for iPhones with icloud, you can use https://www.icloud.com/find
