Pretty much everything today is made in China, even iPhones.
I got a stellar pair of binos with a Bak 4 prism from China for $45 and very pleased. Bak4 is superior to Bak7, which the pair in the post has. that said, here is a pair from China with Bak4 prism for $37 on Wish, likely from China:

The difference is the quality of glass and anti-reflective coatings. The design of the prisms can affect the quality of the exit pupil. The BK7 prism typically found in lower priced binoculars produces an exit pupil with shaded (blurred) edges, whereas the BAK4 prism has a perfectly round exit pupil.

I want a pair of binoculars I can hand to my mom, which, according to the article, implies 2 reasons to not go with self focusing. One is because they might still need adjusting between people (almost certainly in my case, since her vision is slightly better than mine after her new lenses) and because self focusing binoculars depend on your eyes own focusing, which can be weaker in older people.
Also, according to the camels, these have been down to around $30 earlier this year and even cheaper last year (as low as $21), but the normal price this year is up to $45, compared to about $40 last year.
You's think they could come up with better sounding names....
