    I don't have any recommendations. Just search for heng balance lamp, and sort by price and see what you like.
    The design is actually pretty simple - the magnetic balls lift up the switch at the base to turn light on.

    That's only half true. This design itself is not common in Japan. This design is a poor attempt by someone to mimic Japanese lamps. They only succeeded in copying the square shape. Traditional Japanese lamps (more accurate to say lantern really) are designed with solid frames that symbolize boundaries/fortitude and paper/clothes membranes to connect the frames (but not hide them like this product). There are certain cultural meanings attached to it, but that's a topic for another day. I'm attaching pictures of "real" Japanese lamp designs.
    P.S. Haitral is a Chinese company too.

    Yup they used to sell a few that looked similar to this back at ikea a few years back. I haven't been able to find them anymore but they were cheap too (about $9 from what I remember)
