I'm still waiting on my $125 bonus for the HSBC account. The bonus was promised within 60 business days there too. I'm currently on day 74.
Also, don't expect a response from slickdeals. I sent multiple emails and have yet to get a reply

update 1 (9/13/20):
Finally did get a response from slickdeals. Had to submit proof that I opened the account. Still waiting for my bonus

update 2 (9/21/20):
Still no bonus and no response from slickdeals after providing proof that the account was opened. I won't ever make the mistake of falling for one of these scams again.

update 3 (10/2/20):
Still no bonus. 8 days ago Slickdeals told me to wait until the end of this week for the bonus to show in my account. It has now been 86 business days of the 60 that they promised.

update 4 10/7/20
Finally got my bonus.
It only took three emails to [email protected], sending additional proof that I opened the HSBC account and a long wait of 127 days or 89 business days. I definitely will never be doing one of these slickdeal rebates ever again.
Looks like a hard pull. I've got my bureaus frozen and it tried to get to Experian. You can't open an account without it.
Already did it direct for $125

Based on the comments, this sounds like a legal scam that SD is getting a kickback for from Sofi?

A lot of people will end up not getting credit for this offer. Adblockers are quite common and private windows disable cookies and tracking.

Also the SoFi money tab will load so many pages trying to add the external bank to fund the account. Any number of errors could cause it to refresh or lose the SD tracking occurring in the background.

How hard would it have been to simply have a promo code? I did the offer but am not expecting the bonus.
Chrome browser at default settings, no worries.

This is the same offer with a twist: You get $75, then $50 goes into someone else's pocket.

Sounds like a great deal... For the other person.

No "scam". It is a partnership arrangement. They are partners as stated in the first words of the OP.
None of our business how much they get per account signup. The $75 offer does not come from thin air. Likely some from each partner, or some base fee plus bonus for referrals. Not our concern. SD will make extra profit for any who do not follow directions and are disqualified. There are always some who just mess it up. All rebate offers are based on that model. If you don't want to chance it, move along.

Tip: Make sure to disable ad-blockers first, for both sites. Then start fresh.

You do know that SD is a for-profit site, don't you? They put a disclaimer to that effect in every deal thread now for transparency. Been this way for some years.

Banks and credit cards regularly offer referrals. In this case, SD is the middleman. They take a bit of a gamble, but they know what they are doing based on statistics.

0.25% APY = SoFi is a joke. Don't know why they couldn't maintain at least half a percent like other online banks. Seems like a desperation offer.

People are calling that because SD rebates are generally problematic based on comments. No experience myself.

it's a checking account, not a savings account

Sofi is higher than 99% of checking accounts out there

If it's hard for someone to google "high yield checking account", I guess SoFi is a good option.
