UPDATED 12/6 - Contrary to what it says, this deal is NOT dead!!!
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes PC and console games and includes Xbox Live Gold + you get EA Play for FREE starting in November! More Info 1 [microsoft.com] -
More Info 2 [xbox.com]
For new users
who don't have Game Pass Ultimate already only! Some comments say it may still work even if you had GP previously, but it will be a
one-time $15 cost instead of $1, but who cares at this price! Check comments for more info if needed.
The idea here is to just buy Xbox Live Gold as cheap as you can, then convert it to a Game Pass Ultimate account.
1. Buy
up to (can't be more) 3 years XBOX Live Gold from one of these options::
A)
Eneba [eneba.com] (save $3 with code AKS)
B)
Costco [costco.com], but can only do 2yrs this way.
FOR ANY OF THE ABOVE YOU CAN SKIP DOWN TO BOLD STEP 2!
C)
CDKeys [cdkeys.com] <-This way requires a VPN per notes below.
NOTE: if it asks to verify your CC it seems to cancel it. If your order status changes from 'Pending' to 'On Hold ', your order is likely canceled. Using a different CC like a Visa debit will likely fix it
1. Download Tunnel Bear and install:
https://www.tunnelbear.com/download (or use your own VPN) and select Brazil and turn on the VPN.
2. Open a Chrome Incognito window and go to the XBOX Brazil site (not the US site):
https://www.xbox.com/pt-BR (menus will be in Portuguese and say Jogos>Resgatar código (image
https://i.imgur.com/nTp8MnN.jpg)
3. Redeem the codes one by one. DO NOT ENABLE AUTO RENEWAL (press off)
4. Once redeemed, turn off VPN and close the Incognito window.
2. Go to the
XBOX US site xbox.com [xbox.com] and login to your Microsoft account. Redeem the codes one by one but DO NOT ENABLE AUTO RENEWAL (press off)
3. Click on the 'Get your first month of Ultimate for $1 JOIN XBOX GAME PASS' link. Then choose the Ultimate for $1 link (grey one). and you will get a prompt about converting your Xbox Live Gold to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
4. Go to your 'My Microsoft account' to verify the pass expiration date, should be 2023 if you did all 3 years.
Enjoy!

Purchasing a region-locked code and using a VPN to bypass the region is generally considered to be against the TOS, and Microsoft would be within their rights to take some kind of retaliatory action. They don't appear to be enforcing any consequences for now, but that could change at any time.
If you have a significant digital library or account history it's not worth the risk, IMO. I have a large digital games library and long account history so the Brazil deals are not worth it for me. If I were buying for someone who has no digital games and wouldn't care too much if they needed to create a new account / gamertag, then I'd be much more likely to take advantage of these inexpensive VPN deals. Caveat emptor!
But next time it goes down to that level again, I'm willing to take the chance.
The normal price for ultimate for 3 years would be $540. Assuming these yearly codes are $37 (they fluctuate in price) that is $111 for 3 years. If $429 to you is a few extra dollars I am questioning why you bother looking up deals in the first place. Don't see what you are acomplishing by complaining about the deal because you don't know how or where to click buttons even when it's been laid out in front of you. This type of bitching/complaining reminds me of folks I've seen who are given free clothing or food and bitch that it isn't good enough for them.... I'd tell them ask for a refund then.
Respect for all that share the deals here, it's not a requirement for them so I'm always grateful.

edit; it's now at $37, you should consider the Costco rouge for $40-45/year
If anything, deals (or "deals") like this are getting to be the last hurrah for cheap 12 month Gold codes and then converting them to Ultimate.
There's nothing effortless, apparently or otherwise, with this "deal". It's just too complicated in my opinion. If you have to jump through so many hoops to, hopefully, use it goes against the spirit of a slick deal. It very likely violates Microsoft's TOS. Any "slick deal" that could potentially result in you losing your account isn't a deal, it's an exploit and should be approached as such with caution.
It's less about "don't like it, don't do it" and more about how this is a deal (it's certainly not slick — see above definition) for a very small subset of people who use this site. I took advantage of this deal the last time it went down to $25 and even I had trouble getting it to work and I'm a computer engineer.
