Another thing to keep in mind, if you have any time left on your gold service you can only add up to 3 years exactly so do not do what I did and buy 3 3 year cards. I had 3 months left on my account and couldn't add my 3rd card I purchased due to it putting me over the 3 year mark but when I was applying my yearly subscription cards they offered me one additional month free each time I added a card if I selected automatic renewal when my subscription ended so I did end up with 3 additional months after I opted in to auto renewal when I added my 2 1 year cards and the conversion to ultimate
This will only work if you don't have any game pass ultimate time left.
If you only have gold, when you buy gold you get exactly what you purchase… if you have ultimate and you buy gold your gold gets converted to LESS ultimate. (If you buy 12 months gold you get 4 months ultimate instead as an example, 3-1 ratio for gold down to ultimate)
Also, this will work even if you had ultimate before and you used your "$1 ultimate trial, or any kind of ultimate, just as long as you don't have ultimate when you start stacking your gold. Wait till you are maxed on gold, then buy ultimate for 1 month as cheaply as you can.
Lastly, I was afraid of buying the Brazil code because the language for the Brazil region is different than other regions, but I've been assured that it works the same as (for example) a Middle East / Africa region. And Brazil codes are definitely the cheapest.
Should I wait until 10/01/2020 to add the 3rd year and THEN convert for the $1 ultimate game pass? Or should I pull the trigger now and get my 2 years? What are the chances they get rid of the $1 conversion upgrade before then? It's been around for quite a while, hasn't it?
So there is definitely the possibility that this loophole goes always between now and when your gold runs out.
With all that being said, I am cheap, and like to press my luck, so I personally would wait… however if you wait and you miss out you will be more frustrated and disappointed than tony romo.
If you buy 3 years in one purchase you will be fine…
If you were like me and wanted to make sure you could pull off the vpn part and only bought one year, then cdkeys will flag your card for review on your second (or third) purchase

I don't really care, I'm stacked until 2023, anyone who missed that deal can jump on another but sooner rather than later 12 and 24 month Gold codes are going the way of the dodo, like it or not.
