Note: although it said you need to port in, I was able to checkout by getting a new #. So probably no need to port.

I learned from SD to get a Sim from ebay to port out from Sprint. I think it will serve the same purpose.
Go to eBay and search at&t phone port (2.49 + tax, I used empiremobi)
phone, account and pin numbers emailed to you

From other threads, there's something about this e6 that is different than others.

older $20 thread for information purposes

uhhh yeah? I think the $25 price point reflects that and no where was it mentioned that this was actually free free. You still have to trade in and also purchase 1 month of service

okay. thanks and repped.

wifi calling work well for you? do sms / mms over wifi also work?
I have the note 9 and everything works. I just wish I had a verizon sim, because otherwise it doesn't update profile from previous sprint use and shows roaming indicator off, but this effects nothing as far as I can tell. Just plug in the apns, found on reddit if you search. Lmk if you need more help.

Does the battery need to be in to boot?
Yes, once at the launcher you can pull it. It'll boot loop if you plug in before the battery is in.

Has anyone got a shipping confirmation yet?

I ported in my number but i don't see the $50 promotional offer or the speck one in the order confirmation. Guess it doesn't stack with swap

I'll pass, last time they offered the ZTE A7, a much better phone for the same amount of money.
Most people didn't realize the ZTE A7 was a much better phone then the Moto E6 at the time. They also didn't realize that the A7 works on At&t even though it's missing some bands. My A7 has been sporting my At&t/Freeup sim for months. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the current ZTE A3 being offered is actually better then the E6. The Moto E6 is a terrible laggy phone with a crap battery and horrible sounding speaker. By far the worst Lenovo/Moto I've ever owned.

Hope they sent out the correct phone this time. Last time they offered the e6 free with trade in and new number. I got one for my mum it was model xt2005-5 which is the us cellular variant. She had tons of issues with very slow speeds are or call quality. She had me then if the service after 3 weeks she's just didn't want the worry of not knowing whether it would work. During one call with visible help the lady on the phone kept blaming poor reception on nearby lakes, mum's house is 2h from the nearest one but THAT rep just kept on insisting that's what our problem was.
e6 Model Numbers and carriers

XT2005-1 : Verizon
XT2005-3 : T-Mobile, MetroPCS
XT2005-4 : Sprint, BoostMobile
XT2005-5 : US Cellular
XT2005DL : Tracfone

The "-5" is the unlocked retail version, Manufacturer's Part Number PAFG0018US with both CDMA and GSM bands including T-Mobile's 71. What phone/carrier did you find ended up being a good match for your mum's location?

Maybe they realized A7 was Chinesium and Motorola was a IL, USA company. Too much shilling and ZTE pushing going on around here. Maybe that is what they realized.

I got two of these for $10 each after C B earlier this year. That's about all they're worth imo.

As long as you know what you're getting, I think they're fine. But these aren't budget phones in the traditional sense. Most Motorola budget phones I've had in the past are good enough, but I'd say the e6 is barely passable.

It freezes. It lags. Wifi calling is unreliable. Wifi range is bad. It has to be restarted every few weeks because it just stops working. It's too loud with a headset, even on the lowest volume setting. The power button only sometimes works. It can take 5 to 10 seconds to end a call. Waking the phone up can take 10 seconds. Sometimes I think it's dead and almost wish it were so I'd be forced to get a new phone.

The only reason I use it is because I'm extremely cheap when it comes to technology for personal use.

The best part is it's unlocked.
In "Settings" if you go into the "Developer Options" menu, you'll see an item named "Disable absolute volume" - "Disables the Bluetooth absolute volume feature in case of volume issues with remote devices such as unacceptably loud volume or lack of control."

Try that and see if it fixes your "too loud" issue.

She uses Verizon through tracfone it's much more reliable no hiccups but the e6 she got would not work even on tracfone. She's currently using the sim in an old x4 without any issues. Maybe it was just that one phone. The service reps were keen to blame her environment and network congestion each time she had me call them.

You just need to add apns. My s9 and note 10plus works great. It will work 100%. You do need a phone to activate first, though. After that, you just swap the sim over to your note 9.
High resolution MMS will not work with this method. I had that exact phone on Visible with the APN method, and it was a deal breaker for my wife. She switched to an iPhone.
