The heat this thing throws off is supposed to be ridiculous. Poor design on the heatpipes. Good luck maintaining the turbo boost more than a few minutes.

I believe what he is referring to is the fact that Apple, contrary to the designs of all modern laptops (in which a CPU is cooled via a heatpipe going to a heatsink on the back/side of the laptop with a fan blowing air through said heatsink) and instead has a heatsink on the CPU itself without a heatpipe connecting to the fan, so the fan is essentially just moving air arbitrarily throughout the inside of the chassis.

While I do think that the Air is a decent general purpose all around computer, I also agree that it is not really meant for more CPU intensive tasks.

wait for Macbook coming out next year. Supposed to be ARM processor so a lot more efficient. Also cheaper probably if they do that.

I know it's what people say all the time but with apple silicon right around the corner, it may be a good idea to wait (provided you don't need something right now).
