For example, if you met the minimum spend for the sign up bonus in the first month the card was opened, the statement closing date was probably October or November 2016. If you met the minimum spend in the 3rd month that the card was opened, then the bonus may have been awarded in January or even February - again, depends on the statement closing date. You can check your first few statements in that account to know for sure.

As an extreme example, my wife and I recently stayed at the Ventana resort in Big Sur. An all-inclusive resort with a base cash rate of $1,500/night after taxes & fees, which I was able to book for a net rate of 24k Hyatt points (30k points/night - the current 25% Hyatt points rebate promotion). A couple years ago, we stayed at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Berlin - 15k points/night for a 5-star downtown hotel, with rooftop pool & patio + spa/sauna. In comparison, similar 'quality' + location hotels are 50k-60k Hilton or Marriott points/night. When compared to other similar, major hotel chains like Marriott and Hilton, Hyatt redemptions typically require 2-3x fewer points.

But the signup restriction is 48 months since you last received any sapphire bonus.

That would be much better. Freedom and freedom flex are essentially the same. Sapphire brings a ton of other benefits too
