It's 4 years since receiving the sign up bonus.
You have to wait 4 years since opening the first one before you can get another.
The application date or the card open date doesn't matter. What matters is the date that you received the sign-up bonus. That date is probably the closing date of the statement in which it was awarded to you.

For example, if you met the minimum spend for the sign up bonus in the first month the card was opened, the statement closing date was probably October or November 2016. If you met the minimum spend in the 3rd month that the card was opened, then the bonus may have been awarded in January or even February - again, depends on the statement closing date. You can check your first few statements in that account to know for sure.

How strict is chase on the 4 year rule? I signed up for this card in 2017 and received the sign up bonus of 50k points during September 2017.
Exactingly strict.

Anyone have any luck getting the 80k bonus from referrals? I just called Chase and they told me they are only doing 60k bonus through refer-a-friend right now.

I'm debating if I should just get the card right now, or wait until the refer-a-friend bonus becomes 80k
Nobody has gotten a match. If you have a friend who you really want to get the 15k referral bonus, wait another week or two to see if Chase changes their mind. Otherwise, just get the 80k bonus and no referral now.

Dude; the computer knows how to calculate a 48 month timeframe from when you last got a Sapphire card bonus. The computer operates in a binary mode, meaning it is either yes or no.....there is no such thing as degree of strictness!

FYI I just called Chase since it had been 5 business days since I received an email saying I'd receive it within 3-5 business days. The representative said that for whatever reason that email is wrong and should say 5-7 business days.

Do you know if the same 48 month rule applies to the Chase Ink Business Cash card?

Has anyone found a good way to figure out when the last Sapphire bonus posted? I have my Reserve card number, but since the account is closed, they weren't able to look it up. I no longer have access to my personal Chase login when my account converted into a business login.

My Sap Pref/Reserv were both close, but I still have the freedom, so I send chase an SE(email message), they located my acts' bonus were over 4yrs.

I am just waiting for the my family referral link to become active.

If one CSR could not locate yours, might want to try another one

Apply for the card. They told me they would not approve the card if the bonus was not valid because it was too soon.

I sent a secure message requesting to expedite as soon as the card showed up on my chase account and received the card 2 days later thru ups

The only Chase cards with a 48 month rule are the Sapphire family cards.

NEW CARDMEMBER OFFER
125,000 bonus points After you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

What's the best way to spend 4K in 3 months? Can you buy a gift card if you don't make it?

Of course, why wouldn't you be able to buy gift cards? They don't care what you put on the card.
