Depends on what you're looking for. I wouldn't want local security footage local...if they take the camera they take the storage too.

Is this a significant upgrade to the OG Ring doorbell?

Why would anyone buy this when the Eufy Doorbell is currently $30-$40 more, brand new and doesn't come with subscription fees.

If you have the Ring alarm system (which is best bang for the buck for monitored) it is no extra fee.

I own three of these. Mostly because Costco occasionally sells them for $109, that includes one year sub that is normally $99. The video quality is not quite as good as their other cameras, but okay for less than 15 ft.

Basically better 1080p instead of 720p and non removable battery compare to the old one.

I am still using the old ring gen and it's been great so far! I have other sharper video camera inside my house and don't really care about ring door resolution unless they come inside my house!

Good deal since it is basically brand new and save 30 bucks compares to $99 dollars.

See pic on the differences!

I think for people who do not want to pay for subscription than this isn't for you.

Hey, it is possible you will get the doorbell I sent back to Amazon last month. I bought it, installed it and it seemed to work for about a month. I had bought the separate doorbell chime. Tech support told me to buy the enhanced chime which also extends the wifi signal. This made it worse as it seldom worked at all. When this did work, which was rarely, the delay between it reporting someone was at my door and me being able to see via my Amazon Show(s) was just unacceptable.

I tried to work with Ring support many times and while they were polite, we just couldn't get it to work. I sent the whole deal (doorbell, chime, chime pro and extra battery) back for a refund. So maybe they fixed it and it is available in this saie.

I thought about buying the Eufy, but I am invested in Wyze products so I will likely just wait until their doorbell hits the market.

if you call that real monitoring. you get what you pay for. i pay $50 a month for real monitoring and the thief can destroy the panel (crash and smash) and that still won't save him yet he can do that to all shitty monitoring services except alarm.com who has a patent on it.
all the videos for ring is stored in the cloud for 3 months i think, not just the door bell but all the video cameras you install. so destroying the equipment is useless also.

they also monitor you just like ADT etc as far as i know.

what does your $50/month monitoring service do that ring monitoring doesn't for $10? I'm asking because i'm looking to get ring alarm and monitoring. i want to know what i'm paying for, or isn't paying for.

I'll be the first to admit that if a thief wants to get in and steal something (or worse) no alarm system short of a personal security detail is going to save me, but I'm just curious what you mean by "if you call that real monitoring" (referring to Ring I assume). I've used it for ~1.5 years and have been pretty impressed at the response time by both Ring calling me (within ~1 minute of alarm sounding) and dispatch of the small town police upon my non-response (caught without my phone when cleaners set it off). To each their own, but it works well to my expectations in my area.
