I had two hero 7 blacks go "bad" on me and was engaged in a 1.5 year fight with them over replacements on and off, only to find out that two out of three Samsung memory cards I bought off of Amazon as FP slick deals were fakes, and actually what caused my cameras to freeze, crash, fail to give me clear files at random. I felt like an idiot. I was so sure it was GoPro's fault.

Amazon gave me refunds for the cards even tho one was over a year old and I threw them in the trash.

Next memory cards I buy will be directly from Best Buy via price matching to Amazon.

That seems to be the best/safest solution.

Just adding two comments.

First, if you are already a gopro subscriber, they give you an additional discount on the camera. I am not, so I couldn't see what the discount actually was.

When you check out, they break out the subscription cost (49.99) separately from the bundle cost and ask you to acknowledge it. At first, I was confused and thought they were adding this to the total cost, but when I checked out, it wasn't added. I did have to pay tax, and 2-day shipping was free.

Glad they brought back the replaceable lens cover. That's the only thing i don't like about the Hero 8.

Taking Back my GoPro Hero8 to Costco, and sending back the batteries I ordered on Amazon and haven't even used.

Ordered the Regular Hero 9 Black for 350 w/ 1 year sub. With the 1 year sub in my cart it applied a discount to the chesty $28 and 1 extra battery $14. I checked out with B Frugal for 4% cash back, and then submitted my ticket because they have a "best cashback guarantee" which they're phenomenal about standing by. So they won't just match the 9.8% that jewel offers they will beat it.

Use this for bonus $10 if you'd like.on on B Frugal KYCMVSD

Now if AMEX still had their gopro deal going we would be in business.

Just took back my 8 to Costco last week. Bummed the 3xtra batteries I bought won't fit but I did not like the fact that the lens wasn't changeable.

What does Costco do with returned merch, anyway? Sell it used (open box) through other channels?

Tried like 5 times on my yahoo account which already had PLUS and it wouldn't let me checkout with the bundle. finally use new account and it went through. I hope I can transfer the PLUS subscription to the existing one! I have years worth of media...

GoPro has the worst ecommerce system I've ever encountered.

-1st order - Upon clicking "place order" - I get an Error on the screen
-2nd order - assuming it didn't go through I change to different browser. order goes through.
-hours later I get 2 order confirmations. I call to cancel but they say they can't because it's already in fulfillment.
-now reading more comments, I also got hosed on the free subscription. After telling me to log in, they stripped me of the free subscription at the end of the order process.
-tried to reorder and now when I click place order, it just redirects me to the homepage (tried on two different browsers.)

WTF! Just give me what I ordered, the Camera & Subscription for $349. Is this really how they treat existing subscribers?
