*** UPDATE -- free AAL ends COB Thursday, 9/24! ***

It appears that another T-Mobile "Line On Us" for existing customers is coming this Friday. No word on the duration of the promo. Voice lines only.

It also allegedly stacks with the prior free lines. I'll update with any cheap/free phone deals that may be available...

Look up your SOC code (pasted from prior deal thread -- can't create a Wiki for some reason):

How do I look up my SOC code?
If you want to know what your SOC code is, login using a web browser so you are looking at your account. Be sure to enable "Web Console". (FireFox --> Menu --> Web Developer --> Web Console) Pop over to the Network tab and look for an XHR request to "Subscriber".
you'll see your SOC Code in the Response section. For example, here is the relevant section:

````
{
"ratePlan": {
"name": "Simple Choice North America 10GB Family Match Promo",
"planType": "SIMPLECHOICE",
"socCode": "10SFM2LN"
}
}
````

You need to be on the "home" URL when you enable the tools. I've attached a screenshot that shows (circles) all of the areas you should be at or click to ensure you can see the SOC Code. Sorry if this is too complicated - just trying to share info.

For your plan code view in Chrome:
View>Developer>JavaScript Console. Then tap Network tab then XHR tab.
Then go to the main T-Mobile account homepage (the magenta square with white T in the upper left…or refresh it if already there).
In the Java window, single-tap Subscriber (or type it in the Filter search tab if you can't find it, then single-tap Subscriber)
Tap Response tab (if not already selected). In that long string, you will find the plan and socCode.

any chance someone knows what SOC stands for? just curious.
SOC
Service Order Code - The technical term used to describe plans and services that are added to customers' accounts within T-Mobile's billing systems. SOCs may or may not have charges associated with them.

If I add a new free line now, after 12 months can I cancel an existing line and move that number to this new free line and save myself $20?

Usually not for heavily discounted plans.
I rather pay for your cheap plan than get a free line.

In some places that's what it means. But according to a Howard's thread, for tmobile it means "Samson Operating Code". Samson is their management software.

It may be tricky. But for reasons like that is that having a google number makes sense. You can take advantage of different offers and never worry about losing a precious familiar number.

As usual, the No Credit Check grandfathered SOC accounts (mine is 6NCFM2LN) are not eligible. I really should have just let them pull that darn credit at this point but that was 5 years ago.

What's the best existing plan that is similar to SC (we have 5 lines right now but could easily use 8) without losing too much?
When I ported in 2 months ago I had to have a credit check and it was a soft pull. Just sharing.

On the last deal I see that credits will stop if you cancel any lines. So make sure not to ever cancel any.

I may have been able to hit the jackpot. I contacted tmobile help on Twitter and ran into a rep with the initials M.I. who was able to recommend NAFUTT4 code because it is the same rate plan as 10SCFM4. It took him about 30minutes to confirm no changes in billing and that all previous free lines stay free, but he was able to do it and did it. He reminded me to contact back in a few days because the add free line is not active yet so he was quite knowledgeable. Good luck friend.
This plan isn't eligible for any corporate discounts. Just a FYI if anyone tries to switch you will lose that discount.

I think you have to wait 12 months before you can cancel any lines or else credit stops
